I don't have a clue what it says. Rather than getting frustrated, though, I view it as a chance to learn something about german. And there's always Babelfish, if you don't want to bother.
I think it's *better* if he posts it in a language he can clearly express it in, since that means that some people will understand it clearly, rather than no one understanding it clearly. Some one else can translate.
Maybe he shouldn't be posting on an English forum then? And maybe you should stop being an ass to tomsik just so you can feel superior with your [censored] moral high-ground?Jetryl wrote:tomsik wrote:English please!Maybe the guy doesn't know it? Sheesh, I'd think that you of all people ought to know what that's like, eh?

Also, Babelfish is one of the last places I'd look for a German translation.
No, we encourage poor English speakers to post in their own language just like Jetryl said. I don't see what you're referring to about a moral high ground. It's just the [semi]official policy around here.
I remember Tomsik's first couple of posts, and now that he has been around for a while his English is much more understandable. If posting in German is a better path to communicating the idea than garbled English, then go for it.

It's not really our fault he can't speak English. If I were to post on a German forum in English I'd expect the same reaction he got. Semi-official policy or no.scott wrote:No, we encourage poor English speakers to post in their own language just like Jetryl said. I don't see what you're referring to about a moral high ground. You can’t see what I’m referring to? Read his post carefully.
But why post it in a forum where the majority of the users won't be able to understand it? Hm?I remember Tomsik's first couple of posts, and now that he has been around for a while his English is much more understandable. I agree with Scott.... people should be able to post in what they are comfortable in.scott wrote:No, we encourage poor English speakers to post in their own language just like Jetryl said. Plus wesnoth players have very few rules they have to follow and like Scott said its only a semi official policy and we should respect any posters right to express themselves in any way they feel like, as long as it dosn't hurt other players.

That works, in theory. Only not all of us know German though. In fact, I'd say most of the people here don't know German.darksteel wrote:I agree with Scott.... people should be able to post in what they are comfortable in.

From google translate.Hello! I placed recently again my on-line RPG on, it was some time inactively, because it too much work war(ich have hung on a fight 2 to grant before.) I the system completely umgekrempelt, one could say it am a whole new play, except which it always still acts of Battletech (who does not admit anything begin can: http://46935.rapidforum.com/topic=102080851101), which I always still the Admin bin(und some the old user take part in) and it much fun makes. Some think "Baeh, text rpg, that is the last dirt", naturally pleases not everyone nevertheless the play, however know I many those exactly that first thought and after a few over dung attempts from me then nevertheless tried out and inspired were! M.E.R.C. no play is where one announces itself and hardly which with the Admin to do has to work and at each problem as fast as possible help I attempt always very closely with the Usern together, does not succeed naturally always and it can last also times which longer to I answers. As I already said act the RPG von Battletech, who steers player a mechanical lance with Infantery support (at least at the beginning) in the course of the play becomes larger. Which from one will decides one (and the coincidence naturally) as example can one mercenaries become, or also to dealer that several planets to belong, to conquerer, into the service one of the houses place themselves, large mansions on outstanding planets to buy. In this play is actually as well as everything possible, it sounds oneself first as everyone mixes work, however it is not this (except for the play leaders) one can always plays if one the desire in addition has, one must not each day on-line one be and also not deleted if one times 2 months off is. Here the left: http://www.merc.de.tc (if it nciht folds http://www.goetze.tv/merc) I hope I you with M.E.R.C will see again! Mfg, Stromsky
Obviously it didn't change the grammar from english to german, and it messes up on typos, but I hope you can get the same idea you'd get from most people who try to post in english when they are better at a different language.
