What about the fact that it deals more damage than the Great Mage, in the hands of a lower level non-mage?
Basically, I was of the opinion that delfador's magic stick - and for that matter, any other mage's magic staves, are not innately magical. They are designed to channel magic, and are very useful for a mage, but they don't have any power of their own right.

In the same way that most swords don't leap in the air and chop people apart of their own accord (ref. Tailbiter from Tolkien's "Farmer Giles of Ham").

However, I think that the sceptre of fire should actually be (almost) alive, that way - otherwise it makes no sense for a person to be able to do magic with it without having magic powers themselves. Perhaps one of the ignae lives inside the jewel? Who knows.

Nope, I agree with ya. It looks great as-is.

Half the reason I'm working on this is that there is support for having the wielders of the sceptre have it in their graphics, and when I make such frames, I need to know what the thing is supposed to look like.

(Yes, EP, I know you already made some, but they highlight on of the things that only I seem to do a decent job at - glowing, magical effects are not your forté. This, more than anything else, has to do with the tools you are using to make them - I don't think I could do them with the tools you are using.
Not only that, but we somehow only have Li'sar with it in-hand.)

Apologies for resurrecting a 6-month-old thread, but...

This image would be really awesome to have for my campaign Sceptre of Fire. Does Jetryl, or anyone, for that matter, feel like coloring it? If not, I'll take it as-is.

The bottom half is good, but the part near the jewel is really confusing. Why is it so gold? I think only the windy thing is supposed to be that color.

Wayfarer: I think this bit is part of the windy thingy and should thus be gold-colored.

It's all fun and games until someone loses a lawsuit. Oh, and by the way, sending me private messages won't work. :/ If you must contact me, there's an e-mail address listed on the website in my profile.

Well, if you're going to fix that, work from this version please. :)

Nice, but how can you use it in wesnoth?
I think you can only add it at a portrait.
Like at lisars one or konrads one.

Changed the contrast a bit, made the edges a bit smoother and added a nice glow effect. :)
