The are not yet added for two reasons:

1. Eponymous-Archon has not yet finished the animations for the level 2 and 3 upgrades.

2. Kamahawk (that lazzy bum) has not yet submitted the stats for them.
My contributions to the Wesnoth Project over time are inversly proportional to the number of registered forum users!

For the mage I also prefer staff because it's easier to see and noticed. Also the mage use it as a weapon. By the way, shouldn't the melee attack with staff be a magical attack? or maybe only at higher level?
I don't mind the wand, it could be used by illusionist who doesn't want to have both his hands busy while casting his illusions.
