Replacing your lost leader in multiplayer with a level 2+?
So what do you think of having the ability to turn a level 2 or higher unit into a leader, if you've lost your original leader already? Good idea, bad idea, unbalancing idea?
So I was fighting a 3-player game against the AI with myself as Northerners, one enemy as undead, and the other as drakes. I was doing good against the undead when all of a sudden a horde of drakes flew over the sea, and some skirmishers joined them. They surrounded my castle almost immediately, and quickly dispatched just enough troops to be able to get to my leader. He died within a turn or two. Then I made it my goal to at least kill the undead leader, and hopefully then the drakes' leader too. Of course, I didn't realize this would happen, but when I killed the undead leader, I immediately lost the game. I understand why - only one player still had a leader - but it still seems odd. :O

But, that might not be a bad thing.
One nice feature I'd like to see down the road would be an option for multiple types of games, with different goals. For example, a REAL "king of the hill" game, or a "first one to amass X gold wins" game. This particular change, or something like it, would be suited to a "last man standing" type of game (ideally, it would be a game where you must kill every enemy unit).

It would be nice to just have a 'kill every enemy unit' game; it would only be good on small maps, but sometimes killing the leader is just too important...Jetryl wrote:(ideally, it would be a game where you must kill every enemy unit).
It's all fun and games until someone loses a lawsuit. Oh, and by the way, sending me private messages won't work. :/ If you must contact me, there's an e-mail address listed on the website in my profile.
You also have to propose alternative victory conditions for multiplayer. With what you suggest, the game only ends when you kill ALL OTHER LEADERS IN THE SAME TURN!
Of course, what you suggest can already be done in WML (note though - without the choice element, a new leader would have to be selected automatically), and I have already made a scenario where you don't have a leader that can be killed. It just seems the kill the leader games are the most straighforward concerning strategy and get the most attention on MP.
So: give us a good scenario idea and get to learn WML, or convince someone to do it!

Try some Multiplayer Scenarios / Campaigns
Oh i though of some ideas for MP games objective:
1.Capturing all opponent castle to win
2.Capturing all villages
3.Defeat all enemies(no just commander)
4.Take control of an item on the map for #turns to win
5.Control all items to win.
(Probably most simple one maybe is capture the flag?)
6.Have you commander stay on a certian tile on the map for #turns to win.
I guess these are not about the topic....
Here an idea when commander dies a light appears at ur castle then u can make another unit commander by placing them on that castle tile.I still don't think its good idea to have another commander though.
