Lich portrait

Post by fmunoz »

I did this image some time ago, but left it forgotten in my gf house.
I'll colour it next week :-)

looks cool. what would it be used for- undead campaign? i could also use it in my loyalist campaign.

about coloring- i have a portrait for my campaign, and it needs to be colored. i would like to keep it in the wesnoth style, so what is your method of coloring?

This is a copy of a private message I send to cedric about the same topic, I hope that this can help you:
For dialog images I draw them in pencil, then ink them, delete the pencil and after than scan them.
I work with large images 2500x2500 (or more) and I rescale them after colouring.
I use 1 layer for each colour, 1st draw the colour with a hard brush to have clear outlines (retouch with eraser if needed), then "fix transparency" (in the layers dialog) and select a softer brush and do the shadows and highlights (1 or 2 extra colour each) after that I use the blur tool (waterdrop) to soften the colour transitions. Change the layer to multiply so the black outlines could show.

Some tutorials, most of them use Photoshop but they could be done in the Gimp easily.
