Dwarven doors

or you could have *gasp* the original door be the right one. There is no plot reason for the door to be somewhere other than expected, and I think the scenario flows better if the door isn't random. It also is easier to have consistent strategies for.scott wrote:Woah, boys.
Not being able to win this level without a priori knowledge is a flaw in the level design. You could create a new version and post it. Maybe it will be added. You could randomize which door is correct.

Or have the second entrance activate or show up when you reach the first door. That "Oh $#!^" feeling you get when you find out you haven't won... surely worth something, right? Konrad or a hero would have to trigger both doors so you can't send a scout to the first door. Since we can script new scenario objectives now, it would work.
Hope springs eternal.

Yup. It's worth -2 on a ranking from 1 to 10 of the scenario. (The cuttlefish that only appears when you go to the wrong door gives it an additional -2.)scott wrote:That "Oh $#!^" feeling you get when you find out you haven't won... surely worth something, right?
It's all fun and games until someone loses a lawsuit. Oh, and by the way, sending me private messages won't work. :/ If you must contact me, there's an e-mail address listed on the website in my profile.
First of all, stop trying to correct my spelling because I don't care; and second, I think that we should leave it as it is so that we can laugh at the newbs that play as assasin so elegantly put it.

It's not like it going to cause them brain damage. People learn from mistakes, and the mistake is not surveying the terrain before you choose your troops.
Note to mods: Belwar isn't trying to intentionally annoy people. He just doesn't care if he spells wrong, since this is kinda like AIMing. He's wrong, but he isn't annoying anybody on purpose.

Some people don't like to delve into the scenario files every time they come to a new scenario. And that's the terrain you're saying it's a mistake not to survey.Assasin wrote:and the mistake is not surveying the terrain before you choose your troops.
Well, if he knows that it annoys people, and he doesn't see any value in not doing it, then the only difference is the annoyance; so he's intentionally annoying people.Assasin wrote:Note to mods: Belwar isn't trying to intentionally annoy people. Unless he means he doesn't care whether people are annoyed; if that's true, he should be reprimanded for a different reason.

SL: I agree with you, although you hardly need to know that about Assasin and Belwar to have a low opinion of them.

I was joking. But my point does have some sense to it. If you want to be really good, you have to know the playing field. If you see a lot of snow and mountains, use fast units. I acctually learned a lot from that level, it serves a good purpose.me wrote: Orrrrrrrrrrrr....keep it that way, so we can laugh at all the noobs who play it

The problem with the level has nothing to do with the terrain. The problem is that the stated objectives are not the actual ones. If you go for the door, like it says you are supposed to, you will find out that you actually do not win by doing that, and have to take a detour. This gives people who have already played the scenario a huge advantage, since they can go straight for the real exit.

Safari has a spell check feature, and your browser probably does too. Look around the menus and/or the documentation.,Belwar wrote:im not trying to annoy people but my spelling is horrible any way and if it wasnt for the great gift of spell check and my sister (who looks over most of my papers) id be screwed. so if you guys were to implement a spell check on this forum it would help me tremondously (SP?)
