WOTG strongest faction?
Which faction from War Of The Gods is the strongest one? Thats the question that I have in my mind from long time. There is over 180 faction to check. Even with ai battles this will take a lot of time to set so many fights. First fights will be 91 battles, next 45, another 22, next 11, next 5. Also for each battle I would like to have randomly generated terrain. Question is for how much big map, what size should be, and how much gold gives for each battle? Do you guys prefer small map with 100 gold at start or big one with 1000 gold for example?

I would personally recommend a format of like 250-350g and a map size of like between 40x40 and 48x48 to test that, as fewer gold is too low to judge units because the recruit list is so big, as well that if the map is too small or too big, odds things can happen in matches.

WOTG strongest faction?
So I havent decided yet about map size but for sure it will be created randomly with terrains from Random Colosseum (hills/mountins, forest, frost, desert, cave, water/swamp). So it might be that terrain will be more liked by one faction and less by other one. I rolled randomly (thx to site https://wheelofnames.com/ ) 91 couples for matches in first round (you can see it below). So. I decided to use map with size 33x33, with 31 villages, with 1000 gold at start per side. Age of heroes of WOTG era will be used (3rd lvl leaders, 0-2 lvl recruits). Map below:

It would be boring to see everything on the same map. Well, basically randomly generated terrains also allows to realize if faction or unit is doing too good/bad in different envoiroments. But thing is, is that movement costs and other stats must also be considered in cost efficiency (thing I doubt it's being applied in WOTG) , but, this randomly generated terrain is at least a curious choice by my point.

as suggested before not use too small map, to be able to compare different aspects of each faction
i think if you use a map with "only flat", "only swamp" "only cave" then its a biased match that would tell you which faction do best in this specific environment,
but basic wesnoth maps are *considered* to be balanced in one way or another and contain different types of terrain,
so using one of these would give more information about faction balance IMO
while your approach would be more or less worthless basically, because the terrain may have too large impact
so what would you exspect if you put elves vs dwarfes at a hill or mountain only map? dwarves have upper hand.
on wood only? elves have upper hand
what kind of infomation would you be able to extract out of that?
(that you wouldnt even know in advance)
beside this, you would like to use a less random based approach for the games.
Beside all this:
i think its an interesting project to introduce all the different factions of all the different eras combined in WOTG
and may help with balance and stuff
