Yeah, I remember noticing this feature when I skimmed through that version's code. If nothing else, it would make new maps easier to create.secretspacepolice wrote: ↑August 18th, 2024, 7:31 am while the dynamic ship availability is pretty nice for as many ships as will fit on the map,
Its PvPvE map looked interesting too. I forget what it was called... Wesalyn...? Westin...?
Including directly onto the deck of the ship which is attacking you. I find when my ship is in danger of sinking that's usually where I end up disembarking to, often with mixed results.secretspacepolice wrote: ↑August 18th, 2024, 7:31 am it's a lot easier to disembark from the new ships than the old ones though, as there's many places you can get off now.

and yes, often the enemy ship is the best place to run to- perhaps boarding is a little too easy now?
maybe limit the places you can disembark from the ships? bottlenecks?
like how the sub does it

Hmm, I guess it depends a bit on crew strength... in fact, if the enemy ship is heavily crewed there may be no place to board at all. That why it was necessary for cannon fire to harm deck crews - to create openings for your boarders. Though you might be right that most ship decks are too "open" now and we need at least another one like the sub.secretspacepolice wrote: ↑September 1st, 2024, 3:29 am often the enemy ship is the best place to run to- perhaps boarding is a little too easy now?

Perhaps instead of putting solid walls down, use the new elevation feature to make boarding only possible from a few spots, but still allowing like ranged attacks and so on?name wrote: ↑September 7th, 2024, 1:13 pmHmm, I guess it depends a bit on crew strength... in fact, if the enemy ship is heavily crewed there may be no place to board at all. So a ship complete surrounded in people will still get swarmed without comprising the ease of access in the new version
I don’t actually know how it works unfortunately, but I think that would be ideal

Surprisingly, the elevation feature seems to have no affect on movement; it is purely cosmetic.secretspacepolice wrote: ↑October 7th, 2024, 3:44 pm use the new elevation feature to make boarding only possible from a few spots

Is there any way to allow attacks but not movement between two tiles?
