Something different: how do I hack the Legacy of a unit?
It's hard.
It is easy but it will destroy all your fun:
legacy is chosen when unit gain highest level so...

You may save before unit Your unit will advance to highest level and use wesnoth COMMANDMODE to advance 3 times. repeat till You will have good Legacy.

or harder : save before Your unit will make attack which will give her advancement to highest level. save again (different name) use wesnoth COMMANDMODE to advance 2 times.

there is exception: elvish assassin who gains Legacy after his first AMLA.

I don't understand the point of taking a legacy. I just became a preserved lich whatever that is and it appears all my legacy powers are gone :(

Regarding me wanting to hack a legacy: I figured the Legacy bit would have been the smallest problem. I've read around a lot today in different files, and the main problem was that the ROTL add-on messed up my LotI, causing the unit to advance to a 'ROLScythemaster' instead of a LotI 'Scythemaster'. Editing the differences would be insane, and going back a bit and turn in him into the correct unit still would have let a lot of dirt in the saves. I removed all add-ons, installed a fresh BfW 1.12.6, downloaded the fresh version of LotI, and now I'm off to a fresh start, whistling. 8)

What units do you folks want to get in Chapter I? I want two Destroyers, one Dragon Rider, two Elvish Seers, one Elvish Warlord, one Exterminator, two Fairie Incarnations, two Gryphon Riders. (Order alphabetically, first priority is a pair of healers; only paths chosen, not all will be maximum leveled in chI.) Where applicable backups close to maximum level, so I have some beef for bigger battles. When the time for legacies comes (more in chapter II), I sometimes ditch units and bring in some where the legacy better suits their role; still those maximum leveled units are great in the recall list for certain scenarios.

@seangregorycarroll: Legacies give your units great powers. I could think of a few reasons for that lichification, also depending where you are in LotI. IIRC I once had a unit lichified and I had to retake the legacy road; it was Undead Legacy again...
I have a cunning plan.

Yes, I see the new powers of preserved lich but I don't see any option to advance legacy anymore. So, you are saying there is another option to gain legacy again down the road?

Hey, I'm new here but I've been enjoying playing this campaign. However ... I can't quite seem to get past Pandemonium. Even after killing all the demons in the area it won't let ne enter the inner portion of it, still saying something about a thing following him. What are the triggers to get in there and how could I possibly get around or force them?

You need to visit Lilith first.

Re: Greater Backstab and Charging Backstab

Could you please explain these a little better? Reading Greater backstab description, it says it deals 2.5x damage and Charging backstab deals 2.0x damage while taking 2.0 damage back. That sounds pretty bad compared to the former attack. What situation is the charging attack better than the greater backstab attack?

Other units than Efraim and Lethalia can have Legacies also. Only Undeads don't have legacies.
Units with Legacy of Kings or Units with best legacy for them can be very powerful and they can help greatly.

I am buying and losing as many units as i can because i try to find many units with highlander.

I think that best units in game are:
Duke
Prophet
Celestial Messenger
Ancient Lich
Faerie Incarnation
Elvish Seer
Elvish Assassin
Dwarfish Hero
Duelist Mage

the rest is only temporary in my army

Already visited and defeated her in her hideout as wellas another place prior to that (can't remember the name right now). Was there another place I need to find her?

@hack-wizard
Did you just kill the one that appeared near the entrance or you went into the depths of the cave, fought her and triggered the long dialogue? Do you have an objective to kill her in the objectives?

You should encounter Uria in Pandemonium and you should be unable to defeat her. If there is no Uria, something could be messed up somehow.

Actually I think I figured it out: I'd just tried to avoid her and get in, thinking I could never beat her and that I was supposed to try and attack her in order to proceed, thanks! :D

Thanks for answers... how about murderous presence? Has that been nerfed as well? I couldn't seem to get it to work.

Highlander = very rare trait.
it gives You +1 damage per level plus bonus hit points.

for example Elvish Seer with Highlander trait and dexterity will have +5 melee damage and +6 ranged damage.
