How to translate user made campaings

Post by torangan »

I've found no documentation in the wiki about this so I thought I'd just ask instead of figuring out how to do it myself. I won't start until I've played through the whole campaign anyway, so I've got time to wait for an answer here. :wink:

Do you really use

Code: Select all

        translations=data/campaigns/<campaign>/translations
:?:

The usual way to do what that seems to do is

Code: Select all

        translations=@campaigns/<campaign>/translations

Having translated a campaign, I now do know that it's really data/campaigns. Using @campaigns doesn't work, everything else you need to know is written in the pokit-README except for
make [WMLXGETTEXT=...] update-po
as the command to make .po files reflect changes in the campaign and generate a new .pot.

As a little tip to campaign creators using windows - even though you can't use pokit unless you install cygwin, you don't have to miss translations. Just contact a Linux/OS X user who can do it for you. If you don't know/find someone else, contact me. I see no problems in generating the pot, .po and later .mo files for you, I just won't make translations into any language beside german (and I choose which campaigns to translate all by myself :wink:).
