Several free games are integrated in the Steam platform. Steam boosted their popularity. Steam is, IMHO, a great way to advertise Wesnoth.

So I would suggest to add Wesnoth as a Steam game.

This has been rejected already as impossible from the side of Steam. Wesnoth is not just freeware, it is licenced under GPL, that that is some kind of difference

Understood. I'll try to find something else: Wesnoth deserves a broader audience.
