Shouldn't have been that hard...
I think I should make it slightly easier, according to the conversation. And make the walkthrough a bit better in this.
I may not be the best player for you to base that judgement on... Do others have a similar opinion about this chapter? Its possible that only I had a hard time, simply because I tried avoiding the massive army route...

even without ambush leathalia moves a lot faster then the undeads and can easily outrun them
just try without ambush and you will see that there is just a difference about a few turns before you clear the scenario
[/unquote]

Yeah, it probably nearly as easy without ambush as well...
(although i stayed and wiped all of the undead out, but took me me more turns then running through)
That sounds hard! Its a pretty big and high level army heading straight at you!! But I guess if you have enough cash (which I didn't)... Thanks to this scenario, however, I will now have a bonus of about 800 to carry over :P

Also wanted to say - thanks for replying so soon!! I'm new to posting on forums... just created an account and posted solely because the "Army of Darkness" had me really frustrated, and I didn't know what else to do... I wasn't really expecting a reply... Certainly not so many, so fast, and in such details! Again, kudos!!

I will continue to post here if I have any trouble or questions...

Just one suggestion - when you try to pick up an item of a kind that the character is already carrying, it forces you to drop the current one - I, personally, would prefer a system where you directly put the old one into the inventory and replace with the new one... Also, I hate seeing the last leader (in multi leader scenarios) go down without giving me any nice items... do you think it may be possible/a good idea to allow you to pick up the last item dropping?

Next one is too easy? Okay, I will make more of them and make sure Lethalia will not simply outrun them.
And the drops are completely random, so it was just a coincidence that you got the woodland cloak right before it.

About replacing items, I might make it possible to ask the player if he wants to put the item into the item storage or on the ground (that part of the code is very old, it was created before the the interface changed to make the item storage possible).

And in multileader scenarios, the last leader's item dropped is moved into the item storage. And I think it works.

Oh! I didn't know/notice that... I'll keep an eye out for it the next time!

Thanks for putting all this work into the campaign... it's so much fun!

On a side note: Does item generation change with difficulty? (i.e. does the rate of items drops stay the same)

The only change in item generation related to difficulty is that more enemies appear, and because each of them has a certain chance to drop something (this is a fixed value for each scenario), more items drop on higher difficulties. However, in the latest version, better items drop in chapters 6-7 (chapter 7 is the most difficult) than in chapters 1-5.

But if you want it to depend on difficulty more, I might do it, I just never thought there is any reason for it.

i did not spend any gold there :D
i did just stand there with lethalia (equiped with axe of perun (firedamage)) and efraim (upgraded leadership) there and they all tried to kill lethalia -> suicide

Axe of Perun, along with a lot of other powerful items, can no longer drop in chapters 1-5, in order to make things like this one less likely to happen.

Chapter 5 Bug: Lolla from sc 3 is recalled unmodified in sc7

... which means she is almost dead and, most annoyingly, still has the modifications where she can't step on flats.

Ehm... Darn. The fix was only partial. Manipulate her inventory (for example, craft her some cheap weapon, give her a healing potion) and she will be okay. I will fix it soon, but it will not act retrospectively.

Ah. That workaround worked! BTW, her context menu point "Items" also appeared only when it was too late, in round 3 :-)

Hey,

Thanks for all the good work. Lots of fun in this game.

I notice that others have posted that the black widow poison aura and the freezing locket slow aura poisons and slows friends as well as enemies and saw that you posted that these errors were fixed. However, they are still doing it in my game. I downloaded the latest version of your campaign a few minutes ago and went back into a save file and tried the two lockets and they still froze and poisoned my own. At this point, I'm just using them for griffon riding elves who fly around and aren't next to my own, but I'd love if they worked as they should! Am I doing something wrong?

Oh, and there was an advancement (I think it was for the Faerie Spirit) that gave the option of poisoning people around and it did the same thing to my friendly units, so I went back to a previous save and chose a different advancement.

Thanks!

Hmm :hmm:
The interesting point is I found it is doable, thus I gave a try. I tend to upgrade units as much as I can do usually. The scenerio2 of hard level on chapter7 is really nightmarish. I don't understand where the hell did these corrupted units have so great strength even if they are fighting in unfavorable time...
Anyway, beat it by horde of horses and blades and redmages. ^_^ Blades as fodders, Mages provide firepower, horse underleadership smash normal units and kill the wound. All red mages go sliver line, I got 3. All horses go Heavyknight line, I got 2. Hordes of blades leveled and died. White mage only heal someguy and none of them get leveled. I simply stationed them as 6-hex healing centers

Also I think Lethalia's faerie fire with cone ability damages allied units too, if they are standing right behind the target - is this intentional?
