First I wanted to say "read the Wiki", but then I realised there is no contact for the Russian translator specified.
There was a discussion on Russian translation, please read it, there are 2 people offering to make a Russian translation. So do not translate what others maybe already did (however, there are always new strings to translate in each version).
If there are any problems with font, send me a message (click pm button below this text.

I've added files for Russian translation to CVS, you can get them from
http://savannah.nongnu.org/cgi-bin/view ... oth/po/ru/.
You only have to download the .po files, translate them (using poedit
(http://poedit.sourceforge.net/download.php) if you use Windows) and then send them to me (as soon as you have a decent number of translation, for example 100 or more) and I'll upload them to the game.
Remember to visit this page for help:

Best regards

I think it depends from language to language. In portuguese, we happen to have an "accepted" tranlation for ghoul, which is called "carniçal". Of course, the word is not a literal tranlation, but rather a consensus reached after many translated versions of DnD, MtG, CRPGs and the like. Usually you should translate "generic" mythical creatures by looking to similar mythos in your culture.
"Carniçal", in portuguese, is a corrupted form of the word used to define corpse eaters (like hyenas, I just happen to have forgot the word in english).
Try looking for local translations of classic RPGames and fantasy novels.
