Well, thanks for trying, but, that's not exactly what I was going for. His face is to long and his hair isn't exactly as flowing as Vulcan hair does. And, he is not exactly high def., if you know what I mean.

I think I'm slowly getting a pattern what those so called "vulcans" ARE. They are elves who invented black hair dye.
Wow. That's certainly more distinguishing than all those Sky, Sea or Moon elves. BLACK HAIRED ELVES!
Because I foolishly thought that they are just Spock-inspired elves recolor. But I was wrong.
BTW: (I know this doesn't exactly belong here, but there are so many Vulcan thread that I got lost) Do they worship it? Hair dye? Just curious

Well, Vulcans don't have hair dye, like these don't have black hair:

um, nice variations... but what is so vulcan about a thief with amped up hair, and a necro with white instead of grey? they are not wearing gloves, their hair is not black, I never imagined necros and thieves to be the sort of people to "not get cross easily" or be rather clean. why don't you make some mudcrawler and drake vulcans, you won't have the "yourfactionisgeneric" people on your tail that way, and you get a lot more feedback.
ps: are you sure they don't use hair dye? both theif and necro look like they had their hair messed with. (I believe you said you use GIMP, in which case you used colorize, my favorite tool.)

Ok, Vulcans have lighter skin, different clothes, and ,at times, odd colored natural hair., up close they look different.

My thoughts on the matter (if you want to make something out of the whole "Vulcan" thing, which I guess is the implication) are that you should consider getting a straight story on exactly who these Vulcan thingamajiggers are and why they comprise a viable faction.

Like, see, right now I look at the collection of Vulcan sprites floating around and I'm wondering who exactly these people are. Are they elves? I guess they could be. There are rather a lot of elvish-looking Vulcan sprites around.

But then I see the Thief. And the Dark Sorcerer. And apparently Vulcan halflings that are vaguely reminiscent of Dwarves.

I'm confused.

What exactly connects these people besides their shared faction name (and, in many cases, a shared face)?

And for that matter, why is there a half-Vulcan Ice Drake running around? How is that kind of thing even a possibility? Aren't Vulcans mammals? Aren't Drakes reptiles? Aren't those two biologically incompatible? Why does this theoretical Vulcan-Drake offspring have a scaleless and hairy Vulcan head on a very obviously scaly and smooth Drake body? For a real-life reference as to how that doesn't work out, imagine a human head pasted where a T-Rex's should be. Even in a magical world like Wesnoth, it seems very much like the only place where that kind of... fusion could actually happen is in a Photoshop file.

In other words, something does not add up, and I think that is a problem in presenting a credible faction.

So, right, before I went off on my tangent, I was talking about getting a straight story on the Vulcan faction, yes? Perhaps you should consider starting from scratch. Figure out who these people are and then start making units in accordance with that. I probably wouldn't recommend making units all over the place and then trying to figure out a story that connects them as a faction, because that'd probably lead to storytelling shenanigans. It's going to be very difficult to concoct a believable story in which Dark Sorcerers, Thieves, Elf-like folk, (half-Elf-like, half-Dwarvish folk?), and apparently half-Elf-like half-Drake folk -- at the very least, given the presented sprites -- have all come together as a faction.

But you could try that, I guess. I'm not sure how well that'd work, but there is a slim possibility that a believable story can be made for this faction as it exists right now. I wouldn't be optimistic about it, though.

I'd recommend making the backstory first and then making units. There are obvious advantages in that. Take the Undead faction, for instance. They're essentially a faction of Necromancers, right? Well, since they're Necromancers, it makes sense that they can raise Skeletons to fight for them. Bam. You now have options for physical frontline units for your faction that would otherwise be made up of squishy mages. Or instead of skeletons, maybe these Necromancers could just raise up regular old dead bodies -- Walking Corpses, if you will. See, as a result of the story surrounding the faction, there are a whole bunch of choices for units that make sense with in that framework. I would totally believe that a faction built on a group of Necromancers features a skeleton unit. The faction and its units then build naturally around the story, as opposed to the story trying to mold itself around the faction.

So, tl;dr, my advice is to consider rebooting this whole Vulcan thing and work out an explanation for them as to why they're a faction in the first place. Then it becomes a lot easier to make units there that make sense and on the whole make the faction feel more like... well, a faction. One that could actually exist within the wide world of Wesnoth, I guess. As it stands, I think you'll have difficulty making the existing Vulcan sprites stand as a believable entity.

But that's just my advice. Take from it what you will.

Ok, here's the story.

This is what Castain Island looks like.

Now first you need to know about the Cersian alliance. It consists of all my races. The nightlings(dark humans),Zepholytes(sand hunters),Venosians (regenerating kinda dark humans),Valkryies(elves with golden wings on their ears and back),and Cavers(humans who have been underground).

--here it is--

Castain Island(see on map) was owned by Nightlings and Zepholytes. Now they didn't know that under them there were tremendos thigs going on.

The Vulcans started out as almost elvish people who were under Castain island in deep caves surrounded by water. And as the Vulcans were down there some people had Dark hair, some light, it was all natural to the Vulcans. They even got white skin from little sunlight, and they became fearless and chaotic. Of course, like any starting faction, there were tribes. The tribes caused commotion and distress. And as the Vulcan's tech increased, so did war. Vulcans shunned necromancers and thieves and it was soon a war between Vulcan thieves and necromancers vs. The good Vulcans (or so to speak). And then someone was born named Espeon. He was a Vulcan king though he had no heritage. When he was 36-37 he was able to defeat most of the tribes and established peace between the good Vulcans and the thieves. Within 50 years though the tribes were becoming stronger. Espeon was 86 and had his son help him. They lessened tribe activity once again. Espeon died at 91

--After Espeon--
After Espeon died many people grieved, but the nation didn't fall apart. His son was able to establish a peace between everybody, even as unified as the elves. This cut the power of tribes down a tremendous amount.

After his Espeon's son, Austin, died; the Vulcans built a stable economy. And 400 years after the Vulcans came out of Castain island and were surprised to find Nightlings and Zepholytes. Of course, they didn't fight and since Vulcans lived on Castain island, the were automatically part of the Cersian alliance. In 450 after Espeon(ES.), Tribes were almost obsolete.

Now in 476 ES., another important event happened, Espeon the second was born from Royal humans in Weldeyn. He went to the Vulcnas with the help of Maxilman mage, A Vulcan master mage who also saved Weldeyn. When he got to the Vulcans he was crowned King; and officially destroyed tribes in 500 ES., When he was 24.

P.S. Vulcan/ice drakes come around when a Vulcan and an Ice drake have children. I am thinking about making a campaign about that. Just so you know Vulcan reproduction is different from human reproduction.
