I am a volunteer at Free Geek (http://www.freegeek.org) , a community based organization that recycles computers and puts Linux on them. As we've started to get faster computers, we've been looking for more fun software to add to the minimalistic software that we shipped with Pentium-166 and 200s.

Wesnoth was mentioned, and I finally got it working. And, fairly soon, we will be sending it out with all our computers.

I was Googling for a good Turn-Based Strategy game for Linux when I saw Wesnoth. So I came here for more info, and then realized I knew Dave from the Civilization Fanatics Center. (THAT was why the name was familiar. :D ) Thus, I *knew* it would be good, and downloaded it immediately with no qualms. :)

Can't really remember what page exactally it was. Just searching Google for good freeware games and this one seemed popular so I downloaded it. Glad that I did.

I found it at Mac Game Files when I was looking for shareware/freeware strategy games. I actually passed up BfW several times before I decided to look at it, and I found that it is a lot like Fire Emblem, I downloaded it and started playing.

I aso have a problem similar to Eleazar, playing the game like WarCraft or StarCraft.
Darkness called… But I was on the phone, so I missed him. I tried to *69 Darkness, but his machine picked up. I yelled "PICK UP THE PHONE, DARKNESS!", but he ignored me. Darkness must have been screening his calls.

I found out about the game from SDL's site.

Might I add: The only thing that troubles me with the game is simply the subject of magic. That was Dave's decision though, and I'm glad it was *at least* more implicit than other games' use of it. Other than that, it's a good game. :)
