Re: New animations

I'll take a proper close-up look at it when I can use my computer again and do some minor edits, but yeah, in general that looks good =)

Did some quick modifications to that last one (hope you don't mind :)):
Spear Man Attack Anim.mod.gif

Deleted frame 4 (in GIF) and then sped up a bit the first 3 frames (80ms duration). Deleted motion blur from frame 9-10 and moved frame 9-11 two frames back. In the new frame I pasted the frame 8 twice (from the gif without motion blur) and aded the frame 10's remaining motion blur on top of the first.

In other words, the spear is lowered faster into "ready to stab" position. The spearman's postion upon impact is held longer. And the motion blur dissipates almost fully after the stab.

Right now the spearman holds the same position for frame 7,8,9. An improvement would to give the spearman a little bit of motion between frame 7 and 8 (ie. modify the frame 7's spearman, the same motion blur can be used).

Indeed - there should be some motion as he thrusts the spear. Following the format (IIRC) begun by the drakes, it is furthest forward during the second motion blur frame, and begins to retract, leaving the motion blur in place, during the third.

That looks really good! :D
Should I add a little motion blur in the thrust frame?

Lemme do a quick hack edit this afternoon and get back to you.

EDIT:

Something like this, although the speeds will need some fiddling:

Also, I really like that extra motion blur frame in there with the spear head going through the blur at the start - I guess you got that off sleepwalker's saurians. It's cool.

Is that finished, besides the speeds?

Yeah I've been studying sleepwalkers saurians quite a bit. He has a way with animation.

The frame I put in could use a bit of cleaning up, but yeah, i think it's basically finished otherwise.
