I think you're right. I was having trouble with that.

I took a break from her and drew a mummy.

Firstly, the detail of the lighting, is spot on. You have captured the layering of the cloth beautifully. The problem I can see is that there is no drop shadow coming off his right side of the vest. It looks like it's hanging, so the drop shadows should be longer at the bottom. If you look at the part below his armpit on the side of his ribcage, I think this part needs to be more in shadow overall not just the drop shadow from the vest.

Yeah, the shadow is really missing there. I'll fix that, thanks.

This guy is kind of boring, but the primevalist followers & monks sometimes have dialogue even though they are nothing special.

Aside from maybe the tone of the skin, the mummy's fleshy parts look alive. Perhaps more dessication?

Here is a more dessicated (on the arm mostly) mummy with more shadows.

I adjusted the swords on this one, I think it's about done.

Lastly, I've decided that Seth (currently just a sprite) looks like a muppet, so I'm redesigning him. He's now a sort of mummy too, but without the bandages. With any luck, he will not just look like another (amateurishly drawn) lich.
EDIT:Deleted Seth image, see below.

The Seth one looks fine (IMHO) but its name is problematic: If the unit is named after the Egyptian God its head should look differently.
I'm not really around any more, but you can find me in TvTropes.

Thanks. An updated version. Doesn't feel finished, but I think it's close enough for inclusion.

I got started on the sprite too. It could probably stand to be bigger. That would probably help with the face, which shouldn't be a skull with exaggerated teeth, but shouldn't be the standard cabbage-patch kid head either.

Thanks! *looks warily at deranged smiley* (I think...)

I'm taking a crack at fixing the Ukians. Looking at them is a trip down memory lane... I'd used a paintbrush for some of them.

Cool! I have been waiting for your to redo the Ukians.
I have a couple comments.

The Ukain Veteran's left foot (our right) looks odd. I know this isn't really helpful, but I am having trouble describing it.
Also, I think you should work on the shields a bit more. If they are supposed to be wood then I suggest you take a look at how Blarumyrran did the wooden shields for the Væringjar.

They are supposed to be hide, because I thought that would be easier for them to replace than wood.

The Lv2 with the sword's (forgot the unit name... Lieutenant? Sergeant?) shield looks like it's inclined in a weird way. Like if the top was leaning toward the chest, but at the same time if the unit was stikcing out his elbow or something rather than keeping it by his body... I dunno, I get a weird feeling from the perspective :? The rest is nice though :)

I'd intended it to tilt in at the top to make it different, but it may be wrong, I know next to nothing about how to use a hide shield. Or any shield really.

I've just about finished the fighter/regular line. I used rhyging5's fire method for the standing torch, but I didn't make a GIF.

Your improvement is really heartening. IN particular, I like the greaves on the level 2 spearman. They're a lot better than my attempt, and I may steal them :D
