New shadow and nightaunt

Post by tigrezno »

Neorice have done this artwork (some of them edited by me), do you think they are good enough to change current shadow and nightaunt?

I think we need also another a new ghost to fit those graphics.

(png format, with transp.)

I like them.

The 3rd/attack image in both look like he just sneezed! Just Kidding I get it, he just grabbed at you.

Very nice.

The new nightaunt is really oustanding, pretty cool indeed, but looks like... less ethereal than the original idea (IMHO).

The shadow... Mmh... I dont know... Maybe its the grin on his face, it seems a bully from the otherworld O_o

Whoops, correct I meant that the defend pose looks like he is clutching at you or sneezing. Cool art though. 8)

I dont know, it's pretty good, but it looks like he is wearing a dress.
In any way it's better than the original, because that looks too similar to the Faceless spirit from the Sen to Chihiro No Kamikakushi anime.

Image

I just made up two version for the Nightgaunt, with "ethereal" body, and "consistent" mask.
Let me know if you like them.
It took me up 5 minutes, so it's only a basic idea.

It need some refinement, but so you can see what i'm intending.

I think all these differences in coloring/etherealness are going to be hard to judge without seeing them on a variety of terrains. As for the defense frames, perhaps both (or all four) arms should move into a defensive pose.

Here's some screen.

I only placed the graphic of the second one over the one of the Drake Slave, just to test.
They are really big in game O_o

Here is a composite with 3 versions, one of them at 70% transparency.
I like specially 2nd version (darker) with no transperency.

Yup. I rest my case: Transparency can't make them less hulking. They are good, but not for the unit they were intended for.

Heck, besides the point, francisco had kinda meant to make a unit that looked like "Faceless". It's the only plug from another work that I liked, mostly because it wasn't from final fantasy.

I agree. The darker opaque one is better. If we had to have transparency, I would say the mask should be opaque.

That was what I intended about that.
So I leave the mask with 100% opacity, and the rest of the body with 65%.

The only thing I dont understand is why they looks larger than trigezno's nightgaunts :?

Hi.

Plasticgod you probably entered values smaller than 72x72 for the image wich would have caused it to stretch out to 72x72 size; mistakes can happen =)
