Remember this game...
Oh yes, Mail Order Monsters (Electronic Arts 1985) for the C64.... The good old time.
I really liked my customized Lionbear tearing everything apart with its claws!
See the game here:

I also enjoyed its "predecessor" Archon (Electronic Arts 1983). It was a kind of "Battle Chess", where the figures were monsters which had to fight with each other in an extra action-game.

Re: Remember this game...
2004 was also the good old time, but resurrecting threads that old isn't cool. Split.
Re: Remember this game...
Pox could also be considered a successor.
Sadly, media-retards tried connecting the name to a disease, claimed the game had players pretending to commit bioterrorism, and it didn't go all that well for the game.

Re: Remember this game...
I loved making amoebas in MOM, but the last time I tried the game it didn't have the appeal that it did back when I was 5.
Archon, on the other hand, still holds up. Archon II is brutal though. I've yet to be able to beat the computer.

Re: Remember this game...
I think there's a open source remake of archon. Is there one?
Re: Remember this game...
Maybe it´s best to use a C64-emulator if you want to play "Archon".
A page with one and the game is here:

I didn´t try it out though, so I dunno if it´s working well...
Yes, the computer was difficult to beat in Archon II....
Does anybody remember the game "The Bard´s Tale" (Electronic Arts 1985)?
It was the first computer game I became addicted to...
