I just wanted to say this era is my amazing and will be my favorite for a long time. I registered on the forums just to let you know we appreciate all the work you're doing. Please don't stop ^^.

Went through some of this thread but there's a lot of information- my two biggest concerns were

1. Free Saurian Soulmage not being able to create souls when killing an enemy
2. Highelf calvary crashing client when leveling up

Thats 2 bugs are already fixed!!Try to download the new version of ageless era 3.1

glitch: agless rpg doesn't have primeval in it. also: some guys have 90% def on unwalkable, which means that when on a bridge over a chasm they have 90% def.

for primeval: the valkyre has too many resists. i think those were carried over from BMR. try making it arcane 0, cold and fire 40 and pierce, blade and impact 20, or maybe you could use the resists of another unit in the swiftfoot line. the valkyre line also does too much damage considering it's a scout. so does the striker line: it's only one damage off from being as strong as a fighter.
the protector does too little damage, considering it only has 6 speed.

the destroyer probably shouldn't have slows: the attack with slows is normally alot weaker then normal attacks and the destroyer already does a bit more damage than most lvl 3's. maybe you could give it a ranged attack or seperate melee attack that slows?

the apprentice does impact damage and has a staff icon for an attack that's called dagger. either change the damage to blade for lvl 1 or change the name of the attack to staff, like its advancements.

I tried this era again and once again I encountered a unit that really shut down my interest but this time I'm going to report it rather than just letting it go.

Has it no occurred to any of you how insane the attack dog is? I know I'm not supposed to compare units to units but give me a moment and I'll get around to factions.

Attack dogs are like ulfserkers except faster, stronger, skirmishing, cheaper, more agile, and not required to berserk. There is a reason that berserkers are a rare occurrence in default and it is that they are powerful, especially if used well. The only things that the ulfserker has better than the dogs is resistances and a second trait, but that is not nearly enough to make up for it. Unlike ulfserkers you don't have to be very cautious with these creatures as you can keep them further from the line and still hit targets, they are cheaper and thus more expendable, and unlike ulfserkers they don't automatically die to one melee enemy when attacked. You can include them in your army much easier than ulfserkers and at this point all of your enemy ranged units can be killed very easy to the point where it becomes almost pointless to recruit ranged units against your foe (especially if they cost more than 17). What is more, because the dogs skirmish and have 8 movement it's almost impossible to protect your ranged units against them.

Even all of that might have been if an enemy could out melee them but most factions would have trouble with this considering that the faction that gets the attack dogs also has a standard melee unit which is superior or equal to the the Loyalist spearman in pretty much every way (though it is neutral rather than lawful). Loyalist spearmen were already a very effective unit for their cost. What's more because of the effects of the dogs you can hardly get ranged units for the purposes of weakening them for your own melee units to attack with however the faction with the dogs (I cannot remember how to spell its name) can get a few archers for that purpose without weakening itself to much.

This unit combined with the other powerful and cheap melee unit this faction can put out makes it very hard to beat with any faction that relies on ranged units (except possibly undead because it didn't seem to have much impact/fire/arcane) and I would suggest that you revise it in some way. A skirmishing berserker is scary enough as it is without having 8 movement and more damage than the ulfserker and the fact that it is not required to berserk takes away a major factor in why ulfserkers are too powerful and on top of it this unit can be acquired for even less.

The attack dog sounds like it is from Ukian faction of Bad Moon Rising. If it is, here's my two cents:

If that unit is recruit-able, that is a mistake. The level 0 dogs can be recruit-able without overpowering the faction because they die so easily. At least, no has complained to me that the dog line is overpowering.

The last time I played Ageless era it showed the Dark Elves faction twice, and in Ageless Heroes one of them had a Captain leader in addition to a Marshall one. And there is also one of them with a lv3 Lizard Rider while the other doesn't have it.

I've added the Dark Blood Alliance to the Ageless era...
I want add the SteelHive Faction too in future

I need someone who know how to convert the 1.6x Eras to 17x!!!!

weren't there plans to add nightmares of meloean? the concept is good and it's almost balanced.

for your maps: some of them aren't balanced because they are terrain themed: ukians will pwn in all winter maps, in sand maps it will be impossible to beat some sand factions (free saurians, desert elves and drakes) even with some of the weaker sand factions. (the kalfia), and in forest maps the forest factions will pwn.

Also: i think at this point balancing is more important than adding factions.
ukians (just the attack dog), primeval, welkin and celestials, to name a few, are all still unbalanced. Try using the welkin from era of the future: they're much more balanced now.

Today i'll post my improved version of the Ageless era (the celestial are the same uhm...but welkins are balanced)I've already added Nightmare of meloen(unfurtunatly i'm not able to add theyr special castle feature :( if someone can help me with that......)i've added the Dark blood alliance and i've added all the Mercenary era faction....i've balanced some thing but the balancing is not perfect(is impossible make all this faction balanced!)but can be better anyway...
Steelhive are problematic to be added for some reason uhm...
I dunno how to post this ageless improvement in the official add on server...
The map are really ubalanced yes...are the maps from some campaign...
mmwton is disappared but i want improve his project and upgrade it for the next wesnoth version!

you can always post the complete updated version on the forum and hope someone else who knows how does it. and if you post it on a forum then any random player can download it and use it in their wesnoth.

i wish i could help you, but i'm pretty useless in wml except for some unit code.

Amazing but it should be added in the add-ons' server.
I downloaded it but the people joining it made OSS, because they had the former version.
Favourite Eras: Ageless Era; Eastern Europe at War.
Favourite MP Map: Creep War.

Don't have time to explain but I can't use your version. I have an idea though. Why don't you make your own era an just change he ids folder names and era names then release it as your own. Name is something creative that doesn't have Ageless in it though. Sorry but I have to go.


EDIT: OMG I JUST REALIZED THAT YOU POSTED MATTDAKKA!! were have you been I wanted to play a quick game or two.
