I figured I'd post an update so the powers that be can have a better idea of my aim with this. That way they can make an informed decision to tell me I suck I suppose. I do love the way TSI spanks me.

awesome. if this turns out to be as good as the rest, as long as there is a draug talking at some point in my latest campaign then 1.6.x users will get to see it

I really like the armor and bones - look scary and wonderfully so. But what's with the blue stuff? What's that supposed to be?

Once again, I'm struggling to distinguish between the armour and the bones - I particularly can't tell what's really going on with his head. I'm similarly unsure about the hand - it strikes me that one of his hands is likely to have a shield, and the other and axe, or both of them be holding an axe - so I'm not quite sure what that hand is doing.

I'll reserve judgement until you've gotten a bit further, I think.

Think heated metal. Now reverse that. I just think cold works better with the undead thing seeing as heat would hurt him.

Other hand is most likely going to be holding the axe. The current arm is going to be getting a shield unless I can think of a better place for it, but that would be strapped on to his arm, leaving his hand free. In short, I drew the arm and armor behind it so I'd have a better idea of how the shield would sit in that area. I'm crazy like that.

Still working on the head (obviously) because so far it's looking to be one of the more complicated parts of him. In the end, you're not going to really see much of his actual skull. Just a little bit around his teeth and around his eye sockets, which are mostly defined by the blue light since the top part would be sitting in shadow. His ribcage is incredibly rough right now and has barely even received color to it.

I mostly posted it for the approval of the armor design since it would be continued throughout. It's pushed a little more into the fantasy and *gasp* There are glowy bits to it. If you didn't have any complaints on any of that just yet then I think I got the answer to my question. Hooray!

Finally something new! ;)

I like the cold glow idea and the facial mask!
I don't know how much critique at this step of work is worth but i think the sternum isn't centered, the neck is a bit too long and the "fingers" all have the same length. The roundish part of the armour in front of his right shoulder doesn't really fit the rest of the very pointy and angular design choices and I guess you plan to add more blueish reflections later on.

Can't wait to see more!

Cold metal will not appear blue. In fact, very very very hot metal would radiate bluish white.

Of course, WINR and it may be different there, so never mind.

The large amounts of metal also make the Draug look very mech- or robot-like instead of skeleton-like, but that's not actually a problem as such. :)

Rule of Cool.

Besides that, I really like the way it's progressing, even if you can't really see the contours of the skull anymore due to similar coloring... As well as the fact that it doesn't remind me of the Draug's sprite at all. But it's a portrait and they don't have to look exactly the same eh?

It's like I tossed the ball to you and rather than catch it, you held up a small child at the last moment to take the impact.

Sorry for the lack of updates. Moving in to my dorm at the end of the week and I've had a ton of things to take care of.

Almost two months now...
You are an Arch Mage - You're definitely intelligent, but some people would say you spend too much time inside. The power you have learned, however, is simply unmatched.

Small explanation in art workshop, but basically it's been one mess after another here. I get some free time, I practice random things. Otherwise my days have been filled with classes, lack of sleep. Dragon Age and whiskey have been instrumental in letting me relax on the weekends as well.

Anyways, production will start up again. It's just been hectic, and will continue to be so for me till finals come and go in the coming weeks.

:hmm: A draug is basically a huge undead suit of armor, right?
Well, all you really have to do is a make some evil armor with a face.

P.S. Really nice work, with everything so far.
