I agree with the previous posters about the legs--they're the one part of the sprite that still looks weak. Part of the problem is that the knees are too high up (either that or his thighs bend oddly), which makes it look like he has no knees. They should be right above the tops of the boots, with only perhaps a pixel between, and the outlines of the legs need to change to match--also, the boot on the right comes up higher than the one on the left, which looks odd.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I didn't get a chance to work on him last night, as was out with friends having too much to drink
I'll see if I can squeeze some time in at work today to work on him, and try and fix the legs up.

A general rule worth bearing in mind is that straight lines longer than about 4 pixels will usually look a little strange, unless they're in weapon poles or the like (which usually should either be dead straight, at 30, 45 or 60 degrees/2 to 1 or 1 to 1 gradients), other lines are more difficult to use convincingly) - even bits of your body you think are straight, simply aren't that straight.
