For your second portrait, his head and shoulders are facing out of the frame towards the viewer, but the straps on his chest curve inward as if his chest is facing somewhere off to the right of the portrait.

The one from 05/06 looks like an optical illusion. One way up it's a close-up view of a skull with a headband, other way up the headband turns into a belt and the picture seems to show a torso, arms and legs. Intentional?

The positioning of his eye sockets and cheek bones are not in balance, as his left cheekbone extends out very far.
