Some questions on the translation
I've recently restarted my work on translating, and came to a string with a campaign name on it. Should I translate it, or leave it as it is?
There's also a string of codes which I found undecipherable, as I have no knowledge whatsoever in WML. Could someone please point out to me what this would do, and what shall I do with it? Shall I leave it as it is or?
Here's the block of text (parts in question are in bold)
Each side begins with one leader in their keep. At the start of any battle, and at times during it, you will need to recruit <ref>dst='..units' text='units'</ref> into your army. To recruit, you must have your leader (for instance, Konrad in the Heir to the Throne campaign) on the Keep square of a <ref>dst='terrain_castle' text='Castle'</ref>. Then you may recruit by either choosing Recruit from the menu or right-clicking on a hex and selecting text=Recruit. This brings up the recruit menu, which lists units available for recruitment, along with their gold cost. Click on a unit to see its statistics, then press the recruit button to recruit it.
Thanks for the help.

Re: Some questions on the translation
The campaign name is pure text, just translate it (with the translated name the campaign already has, so as to not confuse the user).
For the markup, copy it verbatim and then translate its 'text' field. This is the field the user sees: "you will need to recruit units into your army".

So for the second one, for example, I'll leave terrain_castle as it is, and just translate text=castle? Just confirming.

Re: Some questions on the translation
Correct. That is several "WML in translateable strings" (like variables and stuff like this) are either answered in this forum already or listed in the Gettext for Translators FAQ. If something is not listed in there and you found out how to handle it, please do edit the page and add it to help future contributors when they encounter the same problem. Thanks.TheChosenOne wrote:So for the second one, for example, I'll leave terrain_castle as it is, and just translate text=castle? Just confirming.

Don't forget the single quotes around:TheChosenOne wrote:So for the second one, for example, I'll leave terrain_castle as it is, and just translate text=castle? Just confirming.

Eh, it could possibly serve as good reference for others who may run into similar issues as you. So I'll just put a lock on it since you are done with it for now.TheChosenOne wrote:You can delete this thread, mods
