Hi. I have an idea for a weapon special.

Venomous
A venomous attack deals additional damage to poisoned units. As an option, it poisons enemy otherwise.

Do you think it's a good idea? Should i post another one, i have?

How exactly would this work?

Assassin poisons spearman. Poison takes 8 health from spearman per turn already, and the assassin can still attack the spearman if it wants (though poison does not stack), and will still cause damage from the same attack.

So how does venomous deal additional damage to poisoned units? Are you talking about having an attack that will stack on top of poison, but if the attacker misses, he will poison himself?

He means an attack that does X damage and X+Y damage to a unit already poisoned.

Ah, duh, got it, thanks JW. So an attack that has the effects modified if the unit is already poisoned.

Fair enough, what units would you implement this on, or at least what type? Would it just be in the realm of the units that already have poison then?

Either X+Y or X*A.

There is something i was not clear in the first post. My original idea is it would be checked if enemy is poisoned at the beginning of combat, not before every blow.

Or it could be rather, that venomous attack can only be used, if enemy is poisoned. This way this WS could be used in different ways.

My idea was, that presence of such venomous unit on battlefield would make poison more dangerous. It could be a possible advancement of a unit, that belongs to poisonous faction.

As an example (this is not a suggestion), such unit could be "Painmaster", advancement of Dark Adept, with a powerful ranged venomous attack, and perhaps poisonous attack with high overall CtH. To get this unit, one would have (quite like for White Mage) advance a unit which ain't got this special, but it would pay off, when player could threat enemy with a ghoul or two, supported by Painmaster.

Interesting, I do not know exactly how likely it would be to ever make it past UMC use, but I like the idea.

Alternatively, you could have "Alchemist", who after dabbling in the dark arts (DA advancement), decided to delve further into the sciences of life. The increased knowledge of the human body, as well as the focus on death, has made the Alchemist a master at causing exquisite pain in his victims, often through the application of venoms that work to turn chemicals already in the body into deadly substances.

Writing is what I do, so I figured I would offer a realistic interpretation of why a unit might have Venomous, as well as in keeping with normal unit descriptions.

Why does it make you laugh?

After this one piece i think that whatever ability one would come up with, you would be able to put lore-wise logic behind it. :D I can't explain why do i find it so funny, anyways i really liked that explanation.
