Wikipedia, believe it or not... it looked good on the "List of open-source games."

Wikipedia, two weeks ago, after a search for turn-based strategy games.

Wesnoth is awesome btw, and I've already turned my best friend on to it; we enjoy playing against the computer in co-op.

Well, first of all to say hi, as this is my first post :)

I found about wesnoth through the freebsd's port system. Trying games that sounded interesting out from the ports list, from top to bottom. It was a while till i reached the W ^_^

Not yet . . . I want to play through the campaigns and get a feel for the maps and units first. Then, later, I can unlearn all the bad lessons I learn against the questionable AI ;)

Found out when my brother installed the Linux Game Program on my laptop, then he showed me the billion games, then I found wesnoth.

Really old version, it had the old main screen music, and a picture of Konrad holding a sword at a cliff in the background

I discovered Wesnoth back in 2004, from browsing the Civilization Fanatics' forums. :)

I just recently got back into playing Wesnoth, after having had no Internet access for 14 months.

It's nice to know that after 14 months without internet, this is the first game you come back to play. :P

I found Wesnoth through a search for free TBS games. It came up with the Wikipedia article in which Wesnoth is first under Open-Source games. That was under version .8 or so, and I was hooked.
Mainline Maintainer: AOI, DM, NR, TB and THoT.
UMC Maintainer: Forward They Cried, A Few Logs, A Few More Logs, Start of the War, and Battle Against Time
