Those units are very well done, but looking at the unit tree, they seem very similar.

Compare for example:

to

or

There are sizeable differences in position, ornamentation and colour between levels that enable you to tell at a glance which unit you're looking at.

With the exception of the horns on the L3 dark soldier, the differences (eg. the shield and L1->L2 helmet change) are unfortunately too subtle to be easily noticeable on a crowded battlefield, IMO.

I know, but this is a non-issue for this particular project. Blueblaze told me he 'wasn't going for the typical leveling system' or something along those lines.

this is not a leveling issue, this is a usability issue...

units should be different enough to be recognized immediatly...

Those units are very nice Neoskel. I cant wait to see what they are gonna be used for. To tell the truth i would love to see them in some MP era too as they really have the feeling of darkness i miss in the dark elven faction of EE for example.

You are right, but it looks like its only a real problem with that one line (and maybe the archer line too). I'll do something about it eventually.

Heh, well you did a good job Neoskel! You might want to change the poses as mentioned before, but no rush into doing that as I can use them quite well as they are currently. Thanks and good job :)

Also the horseman line, IMO. The others should be fine.

agree on the horseline. while the shield gets bigger it looks like the spear gets smaller.
