Allied leadership for main line
Coordinating leadership bonus to a allie unit is alot more complicated then healing. Yet allie healing stacks forever, and leadership has no effect on allies at all.
I think allied leadership that effects allie units like those in the RPG mods should be in main line. It need not stack like allie healing does (but shouldn't IMO)
No reason for your leadership not to effect allie units that I can think of + Its very hard to coordinate such things anyways + Allied leadership already exists in mods so the scripting work would be almost no work at all = Can someone give me any reason at all this shouldn't be changed come next patch?

Re: Allied leadership for main line
It doesn't make sense for allies to directly lead your troops, if they wanted to do that they'd be on your side. + It's very hard to coordinate so its effect is accidental at best anyway. + We don't want it in mainline. = No change.TruePurple wrote:No reason for your leadership not to effect allie units that I can think of + Its very hard to coordinate such things anyways + Allied leadership already exists in mods so the scripting work would be almost no work at all = Can someone give me any reason at all this shouldn't be changed come next patch?

As allies they are ARE on your side. Anyways wesnoth is not realistic. If its hard to coordinate it, then it will certainly not be overpowered.
If some allies want to use the effect of some leader unit for a friend, why not let them? A reward for the skilled players who can pull it off.
Why should allie healing stack, but leadership not effect allies at all?
BTW nothing in your post Soliton is actually a reason not to have allied leadership in main line. Might I get more of a response from you then "change is bad" and a vamperic like reaction to sunlight?

Excuse me? Did you just insult a second developer in two days? The second time only an hour after I warned you privately about your behaviour?TruePurple wrote:As allies they are ARE on your side. uh oh.
He made it perfectly clear why its not going to happen, you just chose to ignore it (like usual).... thats not good. IT makes little sense that allies might be able to lead to other units minions. Esthetically it makes little sense. It is hard to believe a dwarf accept the leadership of a elf under anything but extraordinary circumstances. Gameplay wise it presents added difficulty because of the changing of sides. It is far more overpowered than allied healing is comparatively. You did not pick up on any of these reasons, which soliton touched on.

I suspect having one foot in the past is the best way to understand the present.

Thank you for your reasonable response clears up some misconceptions I had. Have a good day.TruePurple wrote:BTW nothing in your post Soliton is actually a reason not to have allied leadership in main line. Let me make something clear: The onus is on the person proposing a change to the status quo.
Neither Soliton nor anyone else has to justify not implementing something. The proposer has to provide evidence that an idea is good enough to justify the effort and disruption of implementing it. And if that evidence doesn't convince the Devs, it doesn't happen, no matter how convincing the proposer thinks it is.
