I need help on 'Return to the village'

Yea, im fairly new to the game, and i need some help on the Return to the Village scenario in the Tale of two Brothers campaign

A bit more specific info on what problem you're having would be helpful. I don't think I ever made it that far on the Hard skill, but on Easy, my general way of tackling it was to send my troops into the hills/mountains to the southwest of the orc camp. You should have some leveled up troops by that time. Also, try not to fight the orcs at night unless you're on good terrain and the enemy unit is wounded enough to be taken out in one hit - since your units are lawful and orcs have chaotic units, night is the time when you do the least damage while they do the most, thus a time to retreat and defend, while day is best for attacking. Bowmen are good for taking out wolves and grunts.

No matter what I try I get overwhelmed by orcs, warg riders, bowmen and trolls. They just pour out of the woodwork, probably 15-30 before 10 turns have passed. There is nowhere I can go without being overwhelmed by them and slaughtered.

Ive played this scenario four or five times now and it always ends the same way.

What am I doing wrong? Its set to easy even. I don't know if its the lack of gold for recruiting, but this scenario seems unbeatable.

I tried to find a walk through but theres nothing on the page where its supposed to be? Should an admin be made aware of this website bug?

It's well known that the Walkthroughs haven't been updated in a very long time, and they probably never will. So granted that there was a walkthrough for the two brothers campaign, it would be of an archaic version.

What am I doing wrong?

You'll have to give more information before asking this question. How much gold did you start with? What units were on your recall list?

Since you mentioned that you're on easy difficulty, HI are probably available to you. Personally, I wouldn't use them in this scenario. Trolls and archers counter them pretty well. On top of that, they're expensive, slow, and can't walk over mountains. I made the mistake of spamming them when I first played this scenario.

I have 120 pieces of Gold, and no autosaves so its at the beginning of the scenario.

Recall List?? I just checked wow, I never used that feature before. Its not covered in the tutorial that I recall.

I have a long list with some leveled characters. Cool!!! Maybe that will help, but still is 120 Gold enough to compete with the onslaught of guys attacking me?

I was having the same problems as you. Things took a turn for the better when I sent a couple of units east from the startpoint, take those villages and generally harass The Orcs. That makes the Orc commander nervous so he forgets to recruit, he even comes out to engage your decoy units sometimes. Meanwhile you take a main force North around the mountains to far less resistance.
