Erk wrote:....why not use the infraorder brachyura to which crabs belong, and fantasy-ise it a little to create a racial name?
eg:
Brachyan Scuttler
Brachyan Carver
Brachyan Crusher
I like it. I vote for scrapping my old idea and using a modified version of Erk's:

Brachyan Scuttler
Brachyan Carver
Brachyan Cleaver

I'm almost done with the next major release, here's in short the new features :

- The Rebels/Wood Elves is being renamed to "Sylvans"
- New faction: the Windsong
- In the Sylvan faction, the human mage is replaced by a new fairy
- The Dark elves (perharps temporarily and instead of the Sidhe) has a new frost wyrm line
- Some new units (in bold), note that their names aren't set to stone :
Sylvan fairies: they have a fire aura on melee and a fire ranged attack (i don't know what name i should use)
Sprite -> Fairy -> Faerie Spirit
Sprite -> Fairy -> Dryad
Frost Wyrms: They have an impact melle attack and a ranged cold attack. They can swim and one branch can fly
Ice Wyrm -> Frost Wyrm -> Rime Wyrm
Ice Wyrm -> Mistral Wyrm -> Boreal Wyrm
Aragwaith;
Spearman -> Pikeman -> Guardian
Spearman -> Flagbearer -> Captain -> Ancient Banner
Nagas:
Guardian -> Warden -> Sentinel
Guardian -> Warden -> Abomination
The Abomination is a sort of naga equivalent for the Drake Enforcer.
Fighter -> Warrior -> Myrmidon
Fighter -> Depthprowler -> Depthstalker

- some balancing changes
- some art updates

Nice to know that a next version is going the get released, I'm waiting to see the list with the relevant changes in the new version.

By the way, I added a new base frame for the Naga Sentinel on the naga faction thread just for grabs, the reasons of the graphic is because I considered the old graphic a bit small for a lvl 3.

Hope you like it.

Edit: Anyway and a question, how you do it to see the faction tree (I think its on html) in which it shows the advancements of the faction, I'm curious.

I'm wondering If I should TC the Naga Sentinel, and if its yes what should the TC cover.

A) Only the red Shield
B) Only the pink armor (not sure if its already TC because the colors are taken from the old Sentinel Vest)
C) Both.

Shadow your units are looking very good, and I'm waiting to see how they will look ingame :)

IMHO it's nice to have TC in the unit.
I don't really care if it's the shield or the armor being TCed as long as it looks good.

FYI here the remaining things i have to do:
- split the era in the v1.2 and 1.3 version on wescamp (for the moment the translation is common, but it start to be a mess).
I haven't decided exactly what i'm going to do, maybe just an additionnal textdomain for the translation that aren't necessary in 1.3 but are in 1.2 (like L3_outlaws for example). Btw i did not really maintain the 1.2 version for a few months, so maybe i should just drop it ?
But i might update it after i'm done with this 1.3 release in peparation.
- collect the new descriptions proposal on this thread and update the unit if they look good (with some edits if necessary)
- of course i'll try to update the new frames when they come.

About the above Chaos crabs new names, i'm not sure i like "Brachyan" but the rest looks good. Btw for the moment i only got two levels.

"Brachyan" should be pronounced "brakyan", for the record, and Brakyan could also be used for the racial name. If you wanted to make it look more demonic, Brak-yan or Brak'yan.

Other suggestions:
-Shellspawn --> Shell Demon [--> Uncrackable]
-Lurker Crab --> Carver Crab [--> Slicer Crab]
-Pincer Shrimp --> Claw Shrimp (come on, you know it is awesome)

YES Claw SHRIMP! It fits perfectly, both humorously and literally.

How about Claw Shrimp --> Devil Shrimp --> Demon Shrimp

It gets it in there but doesnt put it too high of level.

EDIT: Were there any other unit descriptions needed? Im sort of putzing while playtesting the Qesicans and waiting for art.

Ok I quickly browsed though the files:

Missing:
Sidhe Bear
Sidhe Bear young
Kalifa Falcon

also: (I think)
new elven spirit line:

Sprite
Fairy
Faerie Spirit
Dryad

A bit short:
(No offence intented I just browsed though the files and some looked a bit short. Some further content for them would be nice.)
Steamcopter
Gyrocopter
Steamwheel
Thunderwheel
Warwheel

Wose Shaman
Chaos Flesh Hound
Chaos Rabid Hound
Chaos Warp Hound
Aragwaith Strongbow
Aragwaith Greatbow
Aragwaith Slayer

Kalifa Naffatun
Kalifa Ahadath
Kalifa Ghazi
Kalifa Elite Ghazi
Kalifa Elder Falcon
... Basicly every Kalifa unit descriptions seems to lag some flesh.

Thanks in advance. Noyga probably has a better overview though.

As in 1.3.7 those units are now mainline units so i won't include them anymore :)

Sidhe Bear
Adult bears are known for going their own way, and it's rare to find one happily working together, even with elves. Those that do befriend sidhe and fight alongside them are often better fed and more skilled on the battlefield than their single counterparts. An adult bear is a mass of muscle, claw, fur, and fury of almost unrivalled proportions.

Sidhe Bear young
Taming a bear is no mean feat, even for the sidhe. They make no claims to have truly "tamed" the bears that fight alongside them: rather, they are friends. Even a juvenile bear is a fearsome sight on the battlefield, rending and tearing with its claws and crushing with its powerful limbs and sheer mass. Its heavy fur, thick skin, and already impressive bulk defy its surprising agility in the forest.
