new to wesnoth my impresions

Post by quasiperfect »

hi !

i just discovered Wesnoth and is a great game and best of all is free.
i thank the developers and campaign makers.

now for some ideas comments. the addon manager needs a bit of improvements.

it should save the things already downloaded and their version in some kind of xml list and compare the new available downloads.
remove the old version and save the new version if user chose to update the addon
it should let the user uninstall addons already downloaded

everything else is great, i will study the creation of campaigns and try to make one.

best regards from romania and keep up the good work

PS. English is not my first language so please excuse any mistakes

If you want to create your own campaigns, I encourage you to read the code of the existing ones for initial learning; specifically, those already included with the game when you installed it.

Now on for the ideas: IIRC, the developers are aware of this. It's just that it might take some time to implement such a thing, but we all agree in that it would be nice to have that. The same for uninstalling addons, even though I believe it was already implemented in the development versions (1.3.x). I need my memory to be refreshen.

Okie, since one had started a suggestion in his welcome thread...

Wesnoth can do with a Sandbox mode!!! I don't see one so I assume there isn't one..

And what exactly would be the point of this Sandbox mode? I know what they are, but how would you incorporate this into Wesnoth?
