Except that it happens to all units - a peasant suddenly becomes a fully-equipped and skilled bowman in the space of a few hours, for example. You just have to accept that Wesnoth's sense of time is somewhat flexible like its sense of scale...

I wasn't complaining about time, actually... I've been playing the game for several years now and have no qualms with the speed of promotion. I was just saying that the idea of undead 'regaining memories' doesn't... well, never mind.

Apologies are only required if you were being bitchy - and I think people know that you weren't.

I was basing the comment on half-rememberance of the Draug, but either I misremembered or the Draug text has changed since. Interestingly enough, the Soul Shooter currently says something similar already: "The most powerful of the undead archers invariably end up being those who were themselves archers in their previous life. They wander the fields of battle, guided by the fading memory of their former skill..."
