Preventing double add-ons and a skill column

Post by ibwebb »

First I would like to say that I followed all the suggestions and didn't see this already posted, but if it has been; please accept my apologies.

My idea would be for a menu or window that shows which add-ons you have previously downloaded. Though, if easier; when the add-on list is opened it would have a check or a mark to show what you have previously downloaded (Perhaps have the database check against the downloaded list?). I won't lie; I know nothing about coding, so I cannot offer any actual help, but I think this would be very helpful.

The second part would be to add a column on the add-on list that would give an idea of what skill level should be able to complete the campaign. As stated before, I am a newbie trying to get the hang of the game still and have found that even on the easiest setting many of the campaigns ... well..we will just say I cannot finish them. I have only found two that state they are for beginners so far. It would be nice to know what you are getting into before it is too late.

Thank you for your time in reading this and I hope that others agree with me on this (mostly the staff ;) )

The first idea has been raised before and I believe the Developers are already playing with it.

The second idea is new, AFAIK. It seems to have some merit.

BTW, "The South Guard" is a good campaign for beginners (if a bit short).

Oops.. sorry about the repost there. I am glad that the second one has some merit. BTW, thanks for the mention, but that is one of the two I mentioned. I probably should have given names. Two Brothers and The South Guard are the ones that I seem to keep playing to build up some skill.. though as I mentioned, it gets old playing the same two. Someone suggested I try online, but I honestly don't think I would give anyone much a challenge yet. *shrug*

Anyway, if there is anything I can do; relating to this or anything else to be helpful please don't anyone hesitate to ask.

Be confident that there are plenty of beginners online. You shouldn't have to worry. In fact, until you befriend the right people, it is probably harder to find a truly challenging game.

BTW, an option I haven't seen suggested is to play MP vs the computer. You can try different settings to build up your skill.

Nothing really compares to playing another human being though.
