... I just thought how a new asia era and was about to perhaps post on the forums about it.... when I saw myraid threads have been revived!! :D

I thought of an idea to make the era a little fictitious.... Add a Hot Air Balloon unit!!
Description: is a very small hot air balloon carrying only a scout who carries a spear and some rocks to throw
Hot-Air-Balloon -Flying Move 7 17 gold 33XP Level 1
9-2 pierce
5-3 impact Ranged
It would also solve the flying/swimming unit problem.

I also thought of a unique ability called "gunpowder[X]". it has 50% chance of doing X damage to the enemy unit before fighting starts. (and before first strike). It might be nice to put this on a potential fire-lance unit.

But..... thoughts aren't much good unless it is drawn on paper(or silicon).

Good to see that you're alive appleide^^

Well... your flying unit is not related the Japanese faction, but I don't understand how to put it in the Far east one... I don't see the link between them...
Maybe for the flying units... you can insert... errr... Tengu? Sangoku (lol)? or else?

Your gunpowder... should be applied only for the chinese faction, and on what unit do you think it will go... espescially...

I was suggesting adding a fictitious flying balloon unit.... to be honest, I saw it done in a chinese movie... balloons were given to the ancient chinese army. They were small though, carrying only 1 person....

Bombers? lol... well... it is true that this faction needs flying units... we'll decide for your balloon... but for the other factions?

You also have the warkites that the chinese used as an option for their flying unit, but from my understanding both the balloons and kites were noncombat scouts... could we consider bringing in just a few of the mythical elements for some of these factions and giving the chinese a dragon for their flyer/water unit?

Dragons? they are nearly the only option... but we can't make dragons for Japanese and Chinese faction...

Let's see... hum... yes: Dragons for one side, Phoenix for the other one... How does that sound? Both believed in Dragons and Phoenix... but to whom do we have to atribute?

from what I recall the phoenix was much more revered in chinese mythology, and so I would propose having the japanese be fully lawful, and have a lawful dragon, and have the chinese be a mix of lawful and chaotic, like the drake faction in default, and then have a neutral phoenix...

Well... okay... so it gives us:

Chinese:
-Phoenix: Neutral

Japanese:
-Dragon: Loyal

But Ninjas... can't be loyal... maybe neutral... for the Japanese faction...
And for the Chinese faction... I can't think about a chaotic unit...

Ninjas should be chaotic. they're stealthy ,attack at night......

And for Chinese, you can always take one of those dual-swords soldiers, and tweak to make them chaotic.

Sorry but they still have a certain loyalty to serve their master... and do their job... This is why they can't be Loyal... and as you said: they attack at night and else... this is a good point for Chaotic... but the result may be that they are Neutral... well... we'll think for this unit after...

We need to decide for the flying units still...

From most of the literature I have read that takes place in a non-fantasized feudal japan, many ninja had strong ties to china, and I was thinking more that the Japanese faction would be almost entirely samurai based, seeing as no self-respecting lord would openly acknowledge any affiliations with ninja.

Good point. So do you suggest to have ninjas for the chinese faction or not to have them at all?

What about making an off-faction?
Which makes some clans for the ninjas...
