1.2.2 unit descriptions

Post by murgatroid »

In 1.2.2, I seem to never be able to find L2 or L3 unit descriptions. There seems to be no entry in the help menu or an active link or anything. Am I totally missing it?

It's an annoying feature where you "unlock" their data by having your level 1 units advance in campaign or seeing them multiplayer.

Hmm....what I mean is, at level 1 in MP games, I cannot see what a Lvl. 2 unit would be like.
It is not as though I am trying to see a lvl.3 description from lvl.1.

I'm not exactly what your problem is. I hope this covers it:

You should be able to select a unit, press "d" (or right click and find the equivalent option). Then, from that unit's description screen, look for the "Advances to" units which are links to the next level.

Of course, like Rocket Slug said, if you haven't yet advanced to that unit ever then you can't see its description.

If you really want to see them, you can find them at http://units.wesnoth.org, under the stable branch.

You can edit your preferences file manually (if you are on Linux it's in your home directory: ~/.wesnoth/preferences) and add the units which you want to appear in the help to the line starting with "encountered_units". E.g.:

Code: Select all

encountered_units="Ancient Lich,Ancient Wose,Arch Mage,Assassin, ..
