Evil people don't have to look evil Bad_Dog. If I didn't look at the intro I probably would be fooled too. But then again, not many Wesnothian human sprites look evil, and not many Undead look friendly.

:( I have to agree with Eleazar and Fiach. The costume looks kinda showgirl.

Huh.

Since there's only one (real) frame (I'm discounting the two worthless death frames that were made), I'm going to commit this "as-is" for now. It's unquestionably better than what's there, and the old one shares all the same design flaws.

As for the dress looking a bit too risqué; I do sympathize with that. I just don't have the time to redesign the thing right now - others are free to build from this sprite and make a "fuller" dress. Right in this thread, too - it's why I posted this out here.

A really quick edit, to make her look less like a stripper.
Also repositioned her right foot.

Well put the size of the skirt aside. I got the feeling that the proportion of the upper body and the legs ia a little bit akward.
-> Legs seem to long and the upper body to short.

Aside from that I miss flowing capesâ„¢ :P

Well the rest is an improvement.

The skirt looks a bit 'boofy' to me. I haven't had a chance to do the shading and stuff yet, but does something like this look better?

You see, if I had leveled up the prince in the beginning of the "Rise of Wesnoth" I would have known that ;)

The design of the portrait was great, it's good that you sprited after it. As you said, some parts still need work, but thegeneral basis is there imo.
Hard work may pay off in the long run, but laziness always pays off right away.

Notes:
• Spriting curly hair is quite hard to do.
• This hasn't yet been committed.
• The size on this should be about right compared to "similar units". She does have somewhat of a heroic scale against most L1 units, but it's been planned and executed that all L3 units do, so that's a feature, not a bug.
I definatly think Jetryl's new Asheviere holds the highest quality and am not at all bothered by her size. Taller women are generally very confident so I think it fits well and it really isn't a bothersome difference in size.

There's something about the angles of her left boot but other then that I think it's looking very good.

Nice. Though mine is clearly superior (:P), the gold stripes really break up the boofy look of the dress.

nice job everyone.

but now comes my version, which is both authentic to Pixelslide's portrait and realistic-looking, the 2 ultimate qualities an Ashiviere sprite can have.

*applause*

(its based on the pic Jetryl posted in the first post of the thread)

EDIT: repaired transparency for purple flame

btw feedback welcome.
