Ok there are 4 different masters that turn an apprentice into a warrior.

I am intrigued by the idea of a Dragon Hunter faction, but I'm curious as to whether you have more of a fleshed out idea -- stuff like the history of the faction, their general characteristics, statistics for the units, and other stuff like that.

And were you also planning a faction of dragons? If so, you might want to take a look at the Imperial Era forums, where I posted a thread in which I suggested several possible types of dragons for the world of the IE.

...........................................?

*Waits for more*

I realise that 'Brother Maeglin' appointed me as your official 'explainer', but even I don't know what to do with this one!

EDIT: *thank God that TK's more tactful than me!*

Yes I do know...

History: Dragon Slayers were Only around in the rule of Konrad II...when an outlaw would run into a Beast..These men named Beast Masters would slay them..they were very expensive...At one point they were out in a war...Hired by the loyalists to kill the Drakes hurrassing the city. The Warriors got so much Hatred towards them they made 12 clans of Dragon slayers they would battle Dragons all over this world of Wesnoth.

Characteristics: Stength,Strategy, or speed Each Slayer must have one of those. They are tall and have deep voices...they stand between 5 feet and 7 feet. They have a good sense of humor, and their own personalities in each of themselves.

looks cool with only one lvl 1 unit but heaps of branching. but one thing is that the spear-man looks weaker than the apprentice. but thats just my opinion. nice work

Yeah, I can just see Loyalists hiring Orcs - their biggest enemies.

Or not.

And if they are tall like you say, they'd be a lot taller than five feet. ;)

In Heir to the Throne, the 'loyalists' used Orcish mercenaries. And they fought on the same side in some battles (Ford of Abez comes to mind)

But those Loyalists were loyal to Queen Ashivere, she had an alliance with the Orcs. I could see a faction of Humans and Orcs, but it would have ot be properly explained as to why the two are in league.

That can be done. One possibility is that the Drakes are seen as common enemies of both Humans and Orcs and that they have a limited treaty to enable them to cooperate against the Drakes.

One possible historical precedent (albeit a somewhat loose connection) is that Byzantine Emperor Justinian II made a deal with one of the Muslim Caliphs whereby the Byzantine and Muslim empires would share the island of Cyprus and would both have the right to tax it! For the most part, the Byzantines and the Muslims were at war, but on Cyprus they cooperated (at least to some limited degree) for mutual profit.

But why would the Son's of Dragons be far far away, from there peaceful, deserted, tropical islands? That in itself would need some explaining. Since without that the Dragon Slayers would have no real reason to from an alliance together.

This is certainly true. Perhaps the Dragon Slayers should live in an earlier period of history -- before Dragons proper (not Drakes) became extinct.

The Loyalists wanted to destroy the drakes thus they sent the Dragon slayers out to find the Drakes. after this war they became Dragon slayers for the hatred of Dragons...to protect Wesnoth they split into 4 clans.
