Bittorrent - Battle for Wesnoth 1.1.2a for Windows
I've set one of these up on a site called Demonoid, but not sure what information to post that will allow people to join. Here is one of the links described on the page, anyways... that may be all you need, I dunno.

Sounds like it's okay with them...Demonoid FAQ wrote:Am I allowed to upload my torrent tracked by demonoid to other sites?
Yes you are. It's your torrent, as long as the torrent is in sync with the site rules, you may do with it whatever you want.
It may actually be wise to add your torrent to other sites. This will undoubtedly increase your traffic. More traffic means a faster distribution of the torrent.

Time for work, so this is my last post for the night.
You can't attach torrent files. I don't think that's even how it works anyways.
Here is other information on the page:

Put the bit torrent file in a .zip and upload it. People can then download the .zip, unzip it, run the bit torrent file with the appropriate bit torrent program and download the file. The file will need hosts though; does the torrent download the Wesnoth 1.1.2a installer .zip? If so I will redownload it and try to host it when I can. (I delete installers after I run them.)

Torrents work by a client using the data within the .torrent file to connect to a tracker server and other users to share the larger file that's associated wtih it. All you have to do to download Wesnoth 1.1.2a, in this case, would be to run the file BattleforWesnoth112a2118978_Demonoid.torrent through a bittorrent client.
That is unless -if- Demonoid requires users to log in to the website to connect to the tracker (the site server stores IPs and allows only those to connect to the tracker). If Demonoid requires that, and its registration is closed, then I don't understand how anyone here would be able to use it. If not, then anyone can use it.
You could put the .torrent file in a .zip file and upload it here, then maybe someone could use it.
EDIT: JW said the same thing while I was typing (and playing MPvsAI Battle World map ;p )

Well, even if no one here can make use of it*, there have been quite a few downloads; so it's not totally worthless.
*I'm guessing this since there were no replies.Tracker: http://inferno.demonoid.com:3391/announce

You know, there are way more downloads of it on sourceforge every day... Of course, it's rather hard to notice the torrent but it'd be nice to offer this way for the next release right from the start. If someone puts up a torrent and offers to be a constant seed for some time, I see no problems in linking the .torrent from http://www.wesnoth.org.

As above, sorry to open a dead thread, but I just thought I'd mention that I run an open source torrent tracker and track the latest releases of Wesnoth.
I update the wiki download page with the torrent link, but it isn't officially endorsed by Wesnoth and I don't have write access on the files so I can't update the main website (assuming it is hosted on an sf.net cluster).
The torrent is well distributed, and within a few days of starting it people are getting speeds of 100kb/sec on 1.2.1 for Windows, so it's worth it. (I can also track download numbers)
