Pirate Campaign
This campaign's gameplay will be similar to "Saving Elensefar" (GJ Turin). You will play Atichan (WIP Main Characters Name) and his fleet. You have a letter of the marque from Queen Melina (another WIP name). The campaign is more or less a story about a privateer.
I would like to fit this into Wesnoth's history but if it doesn't work then it doesn't work. Maybe I'll shove it into the Golden Age somehow.
Anyways, post feedback please - if you need more info post specific questions.

Developed a little bit more plot to this: There are a few settlements to the West in a set of islands "The Diamond Isles". The Wesnothian Merchants are operating out of Aldril in the Bay of Pearls and is competing with Elensefar's own Merchants.
The settlements are attempting to profit from both sides but are being strained too far - I'm not sure exactly when or how this will effect the plot. Through this situation - there has been increased Naval Tension and both countries Navies have expanded dramatically. This has generated - Pirates!
The campaign starts after you have been presented with a letter of the Marque stating that you are sanctioned by Governor Bonds on behalf of Queen Melina to attack enemies of Wesnoth.
There will be many naval battles similar to Turin's "Saving Elensefar" - just more based on the British/Spanish/French/Dutch "Age of Sail". (C'mon though, the British and the Dutch were the only people who had REAL Navies at this time)
There will also be some larger scale battles with specialized objectives (you will not be able to recruit in these scenarios) - where you use your ships to escort a hero's ship, fight a major naval battle...
Any suggestions on how to make this campaign work, maybe something that you think should be included in the plan or worked into the plot - post away.

Just an small advise.I've seen many campaigns that, although perfectly crafted, have some flaws in the story-writing.There are many campaigns that really hooked me up because the storyline was rich and always had a twist. For example, Under Burning Suns, or the epic Heir to the Throne. So, my advise is: Dont disregard the power of a well-crafted storyline.
Have i created any campaign for Wesnoth? No, i havent, but i have created campaigns for other games, and i know by experience that the storyline is perhaps the most important thing on a campaign, even more important than the technical part.
Peace, and the best of lucks with that idea

Muahahahaha!
The War of the Diamond Isles is now on!
FYI:
The Rahen are one of the main native civilizations.
The Renegade God Shallows are a "trap" where unexpected heavy winds can force your ship into shallow water where ships can get split in half by jagged rock formations (The Stone Dirks)
Damenia and Orcen are Rahen Fishing Villages.
Galenz is a minor city of the Rahen and was the center for trade in the Diamond Isles before it's "Discovery"
The Monument to Kalenz is a massive Cathedral of sorts - dedicated to the Rahen's god of the forrest - Kalenz.
Keldez was once the capital of an elven race in the Diamond Isles. It was destroyed by the Rahen Empire 200 years prior.
The Overseer is a massive statue - probably built by the elves of Keldez. The Overseer is the last thing men see as their ships can torn apart by the Stone Dirks.
The Huntress is a ship I will include in another campaign about the discovery of the Diamond Isles if I am so inclined.

Okeydokey
FYI #2:
The Diamond Mines are the cheif source of Diamonds from the Diamond Isles (I really had to give that away didn't I)
Dioran is a massive port that all of the Diamond Mines ship their goods to and sell them for a large sum of money. Then, from Dioran the market sells the Diamonds to merchants who transport them throughout the Diamond Isles, and some end up being taken to the Mainland. (Where they will be sold in Elensefar and Weldyn)
Arrak is a desert island that provides spice (This is completely my idea, absoloutely NO books influenced this in any way
) The spice is harvested from a series of caves in the center of the nation. The Spice is then transported to Arugiel or Dankz - whichever is closer - to be sent out.
Hetoria is a farm Island - It has some of the most fertile land on the earth and is home to some of the most deadly warriors. The villages of Dalen, Merinal, and Gedia send their crops to Hetoria City (Dalen will occasionally send their crops to Port Amudale to get shipped to Melina in a more direct route) and from Hetoria City they are sent to Melina where they are shipped to the rest of the Diamond Isles.
Rahenia is home to the Rahen - a tribalistic people who were a super-power of the diamond isles before it's discovery. They have a massive population and they know how to live out of the Jungle. They are relatively nomadic making it hard to map out the smaller villages. The Rahen are very spiritual and their shamans have very powerful magic. The Rahen Leopard Warriors are some of the most efficient Jungle fighters the world has ever seen.
The capital city Garnez has been stationary for 1500 years and has been under 8 sieges since it's construction. It has a population of 2.5 million people and has an incredibly loyal following.
Kalenz is another Jungle island - Kalenz is the name of one of Rahen God's Council members. The island Kalenz is home to the Revelian. The Revelian split from the Rahen about 200 years prior to it's discovery and were lead by a renegade shaman Gar'Revel. Gar'Revel was an incredibly gifted shaman who was dedicated to ensuring the continuation of life. (Another possible campaign set in the Diamond Isles) Gar'Revel though, thought he was wiser than the Rahen Council - and when they disagreed with his theory on how to ressurect the dead - he stormed out of Garnez cursing Gar'Liam and Gar'Halx (The leaders of the Council) and - in short -used his followers to create a new nation (with him as the despot). He attempted his theory, and brought a plague among his followers and they barely managed to survive through the 20 years of the Zombie reign. They now exhist as Revelian and have a VERY sparse population.
Renya was completely destroyed by the Zombie reign. When the Wesnothians discovered it they rebuilt it and created the main trading port for Diamonder-Wesnoth trading.
For now, I'm done

Hmm perhaps, Arrak should have lots of spice farms (that is spices as in pepper, chilli etc.) Instead of Spice that is being harvested from caves. At that time, spices were quite an expensive commodity in the real world.
P.S this is only to avoid copyright problems (and do you actually expect anyone to believe that it was your idea?

It was a joke Martenzo
Yes, I know that spice was an expensive commodity at the time... Also, it isn't common spice, but Karnstel Spice. It gives food a mildly hot taste and is addictive.
I intend to have spice harvested from caves almost as in a Coal Mine. The Diamonders need an alchemist to seperate the stone from the spice but making spice this hard to harvest just increases it's value.
The Diamonds are taken by scavengers who look through kilometers of caves in order to find the diamonds - The scavengers spend days at a time under the ground hoping to get some money for their effort.
Have to Go - I'll finish later

Try making the map you drew into a wesnoth map, then go to
