Villages could have alignment the same way as factions. This could bring some effects on the gameplay, example: chaotic villages will give full healing only to chaotic units, half healing to the other ones and so on.

It's doable with WML, and not going to be made mainline -> so certain terrains heal only certain units.

An interesting idea, although I agree with kshinji that it's not likely to become mainline. Some campaigns or mods could make use of the possibility though.

Actually, that strikes me as a pretty good idea.

WML Gods: is it possible to do this in WML today?

I assume that this would be scenario WML, so I assume there's no reason why you couldn't do some multiplayer maps with factional villages in.

Could be quite interesting. Might be a good idea to come up with additional art to clearly distinguish the factional villages (graveyard tile that only heals Undead, anyone?)

Further enhancement: Could you have villages that only heal during the day (lawful only) or during the night (chaotic only)?

Yeah, I think you could do all those with (complex) WML.
