What if someone is having fun raping little kids? Ok ok, crude example, but the point is that it is pretty twisted to get a kick out of putting other people down.
Creater of the campaign, "Northern Rebirth"

Compleater of the campaign, "Son of the Black Eye"

Clans aren't people, they're ideas. Or delusions. :)

If clans aren't allowed someone should write something into the quidelines and lock the damned threads. Else If you don't like it ignore it and let them slowly fade away or it will only produce much noise and keeps people bashing their heads and finally some people could get the idea they are treated impolite

I think the best solution would be to find I think Noy's post about how wesnoth will never have a ranking system, the reasons behind this, and then apply the same reasoning to clans, and make the post stickied - or even an announcement.

Yogi Bear wrote:I guess the reason why many here react a little allergic is that clans are closely related to competition.

Now that is not a bad thing in itself, but it can very fast become so and it certainly does, if competition is taken too serious. I am really not deep into the world of gaming and i never played another game than wesnoth online. But from what i have heard so far, clans seem to attract people, that take the game more serious than they should. People that behave weird, even insulting sometimes. People, that are simply not so fun playing with.
IMO: Perhaps it is a Counter-Strike's characteristic, but BfW is a different game, without the violence of the C-S (per example).

It is a good excuse (a pity) that some people must to be able to insult.

I dunno... I quite like the idea of a hat clan.
Got to get myself a fancy shiny purple number...

It had a definite, underlined purpose; which is more than I can say for "Hay guyz lets group up lol!!1".

The proportion of matches which i play between no fog and fog is like 25-785.

This proportion shows which of them are more serious for me. For example only about 1 per 50 matches i play is a 'funny' AoH megarumble.

In conclusion, 'no fog' i find way less a serious, hard, not-luck-based game.

Hm, i am so offtopic, always. :-(

edit: not 25-785 but 25-754 :-P

edit: rotfl, 75 :P

Good to see that the Clan Disease hasn't spread so wide that no one remains able to say some wise and sensible things.

I mean : having your opinion about something is good, discussing personnal strategic tastes is good, but wanting people to join a clan with rules isn't. That's why even if I agree with its ideas, I'm not a member of the N3T.

Rules exist in BfW's Forums, companies, rules of conduct in a university, etc. We lived the life with rules!

Yes, you are - your opinion of the clan itself was completely irrelevant to what I posted.

Stop bashing kshinji, please. Give him a break. His only default is only to answer the topic whithout reading the others. Apart from that, he is a cool wesnothian.

You find fogged games less luck-based?
