Renaming the art forums?

So as to stop hijacking Vendana's thread:

I wasn't saying that the names "Art Contribution" and "Art Development" should be swapped - I was just saying that they should both be changed to something clearer. I don't immediately have a suggestion as to what those clearer names should be though; I'll have a think about it.

You're welcome to come up with better names - I just can't afford the time/effort to think, outside of the box, well enough to do so myself.

How about:
"Art Contributions - Open"; and
"Art Contributions - Restricted"?

It makes sense to me to call both forums "Contributions" because that's the ultimate goal of both forums - it's only the nature of the participants that differs.

I also think Vendanna's right about changing the forum descriptions - currently they are:

Art Contribution: "Contribute art for the game here!"; and
Art Development: "Develop art for the game here"

The difference between "develop art" and "contribute art" is pretty vague.

How about:
Art Contribution: "Open Development of Wesnoth art"; and
Art Development: "Restricted Development by recognised Wesnoth artists."?

I think this is good enough. It's not the forum names that have been misleading IMO, but the forum descriptions. This should solve that.

Well "Art Contributions" is also contributions for UMC while "Art developement" is only for mainline.

I think Jetryl's title should be changed to "Art Nazi" because that would be far more descriptive.

Or if that's too controversial, maybe "Evil Overlord of Art."

I think that description of "for mainline/official Battle for wesnoth" would be a good indicator of what the forum is supposed for.

by the way in the other should say "unofficial art for wesnoth" or similar, that way you know its for private projects/training but itsn't good for the official game.

Unfortunately, that's not the way the split actually operates.

Both forums are intended for the development of Wesnoth art; both mainline and UMC. (Off-topic art development occurs in the Off-Topic forum). Wesnoth art is sometimes also developed in the Campaigns or Factions forum as appropriate.

The only difference between the two Art forums (AFAIK) is that one is open to everybody, whereas the other is an 'artists enclave' where the people officially recognised as Wesnoth art developers/contributors can work together in relative privacy.

I'd say drop the "Evil" and that'd be a pretty appropriate title...

Well, um... I don't see anything wrong with the Art Contributions forum description, but the Art Development forum description should be clarified. Although, the one you have there isn't totally accurate either. It's restricted, true, but some of us non-artist Developers are allowed to post there too.
