Actually when there is:
a two hex wide river,
or a sand hex,
or a swamp hex,
or no hexes of cavewall,
or two hexes in a row of snow,
or a hex of lava,
or a hex of canyon,
or (horror of horrors) a hex of deep water,
...drakes are favored.

Seriously, drakes unbalance 99% of otherwise legitamite maps. That's why I have a policy of not balancing my maps for Drakes to play on. "The map isn't unbalanced for Drakes, Drakes are unbalanced for the map."
Funny, you'd think that someone who'd spent as much time as you have with this game would at least have a clue about map and faction balance. I read things like this though, and it strikes me that your understanding of multiplayer balance is well beyond hopelessly awful.

Make no mistake: It is not easy balancing maps for all factions. Perhaps it is beyond you, but there are nevertheless quite a few of us who do understand how to make a balanced and interesting map.

Funny, you'd think that someone who'd spent as much time as you have being sarcastic would at least have a clue about sarcasm.

Sarcasm aside, I'm sure Nickname would appreciate actual feedback on these maps (so that he can improve them). The latest map, Breakthrough, has a bad mountain-village transition on the front line... I'd say make the water village's nw and se (forest and the mountain) transition into shallow water.

I think you should employ the sarcasm font from now on. Try [sar] [/sar].

If anyones hatred for drakes unbalancing maps, i am currently brainstorming a project with Master Stilgar. The Alternative Default Era.

Its going to make factions more terrainbalanced, at least we hope so.

PM me for more info.

While this is another one I've already posted, I got asked twice today whether it was a new map or not.

Map removed because everybody tried or pretended to take it seriously, which I asked them not to, a map of that size will never be 'balanced'.

Chasms will favor flying. You should usesomething else instead, like more cavewall or impass mount.

Thats true, and because of this chasms will be unpassable at all in my special era.

Use deep water. That way flyers are fairly balanced with water guys (I think...)

Yeah but deep water again does not look so c00l.
What about a recruit event that modfies the movement cost of chasm to 99 for every unit?
