Yeah, that's the one I'll use if I can't get the effect I'm thinking of.Eternal wrote:Like... this?
Again, I'm not going to be able to describe the effect, so I'm not going to ask you to work on the unit anymore.
Thanks for what you've done so far man.
If you have anymore art juices flowing in you today that need an outlet, the Zealot line still needs sprites.

I'm not Eternal, but is this anything at all like what you're looking for?JW wrote: If you have anymore art juices flowing in you today that need an outlet, the Zealot line still needs sprites.

- The robe looks sort of gay because it's pink, but that's just TC.

I just had an idea that these blue-skinned creatures could perhaps be called "Azurians" or some such thing.JW wrote:These creatures are born blind and so stick to living in swamps and underground. They have developed an ability, like bats, to create sonic waves to "see" their surroundings. They stand about 5-feet tall, but their hunched stance puts them at a solid 4-feet. Their 4 fingers end in solid, ground-tearing claws.
These creatures, lacking sight, hunger to gain power and "vision" in other areas. Experimenting and magic and alchemical endeavours, these creatures, the Thrull, summon and create monsters to do their bidding in their quest for even greater power. Some of the Thrull actually have been born with sight and simply feign blindness in order to avoid the jealousy of their bretheren. Those who are caught are forced to rip their eyes out to level the playing field. It is rumored that these "Eyeless" ones become endowed with even greater powers than sight....
Also, as I mentioned in the Vampire thread, one of the units proposed for this faction, the "Flesh Golem" might need to be eliminated if the "Flesh Doll" unit gets added to the Vampires.

Interesting side-note: in myths and legends from any different cultures the soul resides in the eyes. Therefore, by voluntarily blinding themselves these guys are symbolically, and perhaps also literally, sacrificing their souls. Considering that they do this in order to achieve greater magical power, they start to seem a little Faustian (or, perhaps, Lovecraftian?)
More directly on-topic, the Vampires need a tank, and currently the Flesh Doll seems likely to be it. I can't think of anything immediately obvious to replace it - it would be much easier to find a substitute for this faction's Flesh Golem.
OOOOO creepy idea - change the Flesh Golem to a Blood Golem, basically a bathtub full of magically-animated blood that slithers across the battlefield, drowning people and possibly absorbing their flesh (or being absorbed into theirs - some kind of Plague ability might be appropriate here)
