New Theif Ability

Post by Bander »

I just got an Idead for an ability that could make theives live up to their name better. They could steal from the enemy, so every time they hit, it drains a little bit of gold and gives it to you. It wouldn't even have to deal any damage. I think that this new ability would make them more unique and add a twist to the allience units.

And off topic- why would a theif upgrade to an Assasin? It seems like that cut-throats are better suited to this. They could get hide at nite and dusk? I think that it would add a little bit of flavor to this unit.

The thieves (not theives :) ) don't really need more specialties. they are balanced; they have backstab; they don't need theft. they are good already.

a thief upgrades to assassin because the thief is not like a thief who robs. it is like a stealthy version of the cutthroat. and assassins are obviously more stealthy that 'hit them on the head with a club'.

You're right Turin- theives are a balanced unit as they are. (even though they helped me loose a game against elves and orcs :D ) . It seems to me that the allience has too many of the same types of units like the footpad, the poacher and the theif are all pretty similar at least at low levels. It would be interesting to try to diversify the faction more (even though I like assasins and trappers a lot! :P ) So, I think that some of these units need something to make them stand out more, like the footpad which seems to be a mix of a poacher and a thug. I like that faction a lot so far - Keep it up!

Peace,

Don't take this seriously, ok?

[mockery]
Hey, how about giving the thieves the ability to hurl fireballs?! It would be great. Here... I've taken the time to draw a sketch on how it would look in-game. =)

Ummmmm...... Theives don't hurl fire-balls. :o . We might be able to get some sort of a uhh magical unit to do that though. That would be soooooo cool. But if you want to call it a theif that's OK with me.

Serioulsy though, thats a tight picture dude. Stealing just seemed like a natural thing for a thing to do, so I thought i'd suggest it.

Hehe, I'm sorry, I just wanted an excuse to post a silly image. ;)
I hope I didn't offend you.

I do think, however, that stealing would be a strange feature. Perhaps in a scenario?
