Hello Marcus,
I've got the same problem with 1.0.2 on SuSE 10.0 yesterday:

wesnoth-data-set is needed by wesnoth-... when installing via kdesu konsole (#rpm -Uvh *.rpm) in download directory.

While registering for this forum to get help I found the solution myself :-)

You find the shared data in the repository on OpenSuSE.org, e.g. for Version 10.0 :
:D http://software.opensuse.org/download/W ... /repodata/
Depending on Version at least about 16 Megs up to about 36 Megs. No wonder: BfW in complete is about 50 Megs. Big size for modem and isdn users, but SUPER programm with very small size compared to its power. Thank you very much Wesnoth team!
