I dont know how to make a raster icon file (sorry
).
But I like the idea.
I made the icon with two crossed staffs.
The idea with the swords is nice, too, but what sworsd I should took.
The swords from the new icons are good, but to small...
Could someone draw a bigger version, please?

I would advise using the up-to-date weapon icons.

Which pogramm I should use to creat a .svg file???
I've try to do that with gimp, but there I can't save .svg files.
Here's a version without the white background:

Inkscape is a nice program for creating .svg vector art.highhole wrote:Which pogramm I should use to creat a .svg file???

Of the following two icons, which do you guys think would be better for the OS X version? (The windows version isn't really a choice; the text wouldn't work at that size). I'm leaning slightly in favor of having the text overlay, but I'd like to know what you guys think.
I'll be committing the windows icon, and an update to the general logo (just the inclusion of the swords) in just a bit.
(PS - I'm aware of, and will be removing the "waviness" in some of the shadows on the mac icons - that's the result of using that ^$%# Lanzcos interpolation instead of Bicubic - Lanzcos often looks better, but occasionally has certain undesirable side effects.)

Anyways, I've committed that and the new logo with the crossed swords - look forward to it next release.

For what it's worth, I prefer the text-less version. Perhaps it's just me, but I prefer icons that are, well, iconic. The sword and shield is plenty representative of Wesnoth, without the need to be explicit. Plus, IIRC the vast majority of OS X icons don't include text; it would fit in better without.Jetryl wrote:Of the following two icons, which do you guys think would be better for the OS X version?
Regardless, they're both quite spiffy.
