EP... go easy on him. he is well... new to Wesnoth, I introduced him to it a couple weeks ago and anyway he didn't heed my warning, to fear certain people, and one is to fear EP and to not get on his bad sideElvish Pillager wrote:My point is - SO WHAT? IMO, there's a line either side. On the one hand we don't want Wesnoth to appear to be an unoriginal WoW ripoff. On the other, we don't want to avoid good ideas just because they've been done somewhere else first.Elvish Pillager wrote:My point is - SO WHAT? We're an independent developing community! The balance lies somewhere in the middle (as balances are wont to do

Excuse me, but taunt and rebirth were the only abilities inspired by Warcraft.
Also the game mechanics of Wesnoth are different so that these abilities work different from Warcraft.
But to be true thats not important, because its nearly impossible when you have an Idea, that nobody had it before you and I am quite sure that taunting and rebirth abilities existed and were used before Warcraft.
I mean, damn have you ever tried to make an rpg system by using different
stats than the one normally used? You alway end up with atleast 2 or 3 of the stats usually used.
Or when you try to write a story, at one point your stories either resemble other stories or your former ideas, so you learn that its ok to recycle ideas by modifying them and adapting them to the circumstances.
Well and when you try to make a strategy game, you of course use ideas of strategical value and the amoutn of those are limited, and if we are honest do not most games imitate certain aspects of reality adapting them to the game environment?
Ahh well to much talk, lets just think about the ideas and how to modify them to make them better
