I really don't know what it is... is it a problem with how you installed SVN? So, can you get anonymous SVN checkouts of other repositories, but just not logged-in checkouts from the IE one?
The Raven wrote:2. What do you think of the map, one of the other changes I made to the Wild elves is that they also like the mountain tiles which is "m"
I think it could use some hills. :) But it looks good.

What about also having them like swamp (well, "like"... 2 moves, 40% defence, not 3 moves, 20% defence.) The idea is that swamp is basically dark forest, which sidhe would like.

The Raven wrote:3. Do you see what the problem is with the coding... Also I have gotten millions better at coding myself, through mucking around with it, and I think I will be able to have a try at fixing that, for today when changing some coding to the recruiting of Wild Elves (makes ot many scouts) I changed the ai patter and stuffed it up a bit, but fixed it easily :D

But I am still not the best with coding
There's a problem with the coding? I wouldn't know, I haven't been able to touch the IE for at least a week. :( Hopefully I'll get working again tomorrow.

1. I can get on the site and do all of that just not make changes, something to do with the log in

2. Well there was a terrain made called Dark Forest, I thought of it for the Sidhe and Thunderblade drew a greatly detailed version of it

3. Well there seems to be, i can't use ancestors for fear of Wesnoth crashing

exactly how do you get to the repository? To make changes you need to have a SVN program which gives you the option to do things, etc.

First, what OS do you use?

Sorry, I was in a hurry.

ok, so how are you accessing the SVN? (ie, do you just go the website in ... (sorry, don't know what mac uses to surf the web), or do you access the repository with a special SVN program, using the svn address specified on the SVN website? (hint, this is the right way.)

They can use Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer or Opera

I just go to the site told in the e-mail, and see what I can do

I think you have to install a special program to use SVN, like tortoiseSVN or something. Me, I just use the debian subversion package, so I can't help you.

In any case, there have to be some people with wesnoth SVN access who also use a mac - go on the wesnoth-dev IRC channel, perhaps.

yeah, I use kdeSVN.

basically you need to find a package like this (could somebody who has used mac for accessing SVN suggest one here), and then use the address which will be supplied under a title like "Project Members SVN Access" when you click open in the SVN program (at least that is how it works for me).

Hey, what a onderful work you are doing! =)

Post by Thunderblade »

It's good to see, after such a long time away from these boards, that someone has taken the idea and is trying to improve this faction... :)

I left the project a long time ago, to pursue other personal projects of mine (I spend my days at the university and can barely breath, now), and am very pleased to see your wonderful work with the Sidhe... Maybe I'll return to Wesnoth just to play with them once more... :D

I still havent got the time to see everything that has been done here, but I surely will. If you dont mind, I would gladly join the team once more - just love these elves! hehehe

Well as you have probably seen, They are in the Imperial Era, Casual has left, and I am in charge. And still balancing and doing what I can for them.

I hope that you truly return to the team, and I would gladly let you take over again since they are yours...

And I remember the replays you sent a loooooooooong time ago... :)
Way back then you were doing a very interesting balancing job.

Thanks for your suggestion, Raven, but I fear I may not "take them over" once more. However, I will try to help you in the things I worked before - concept, testing, and such.

By the way, they are not only mine. Feel free to consider these elves yours too, for their development came greatly as a result of your work, too... :D

Is their anything that needs some changing, One of the two major changes has been Ancients getting Maces (can't remember why) and the trackers getting poison and the whirlwinds losing beserk and probably being replaced with a archer line of such

Ancients getting Maces was so that the faction had some impact units - before, they had only fire, pierce, and blade.

Hm, the ancient change is interesting. Lack of impact was something that used to hurt the sidhe pretty badly.

About the other changes:
- are you sure they should lose skirmish? they were based on fast, quick scouts who could roam the fields and infiltrate easily on enemy lines. Poison tastes like something related to "betrayal" and "murder" - the Sidhe are vicious, but share a deep sense of honor. I think maybe this is related to balance issues, as these guys were terrible to face - they could steal your vilages more easily than you could get them back.
- The whole whirlwind line loses berserk or just the last units of it? This would be sort of a strange change, as they´ve always been part of the "cultural backbone" of the faction

Sorry if I am misinterpreting things. I´m just remembering some of the discussions we had back in the first concept days - at that time, Casual was planning a faction that would be related to the Sidhe, some sort of "discident" Wild Elves: creeping, murderous forest assassins - using poison and archers extensively. They were called night elves, I believe.

Something I consider interesting is making some "divergent" paths in these two lines. Maybe we could have Furies dividing into chargers/berserkers and trackers into poison/skirmishers. This, however, could take us to a faction that has all abilities summarized in it... :P

Sorry again if I am posting comments without actual basis, but I still havent got time to check them. I´ll try to play with their new config thill the week ends, and then shall post some comments here... :)
