okay, so I've done some work on both...but not satisfied with the face on the shaman still. Began coloring/shading the other one.

I better mention this here: I got someone to draw some elvish portraits for the game. They're pencil drawings, so I'll have to ink and colour them which takes a while, since I haven't really done that before. I think I'll post the coloured but unshaded versions either here or in another thread in the near future, if I find I can't do the shading myself properly. Currently archer and scout portraits are almost ready (basic colouring and inking, not the whole thing), and after they're properly finished we'll probably get a fighter line portrait too.
Here's an early preview of them:

I don't mind them being posted here, but it's likely to even more confuse things, but I don't mind.zookeeper wrote:I better mention this here: I got someone to draw some elvish portraits for the game. *The rider, IMO needs a great deal of work, but the other is okay-- thoughit has some problems.
*If you want, I could try the shading...
Anyways, I'll trying fixing the remaining A-A problems of the shaman, and tryed editting the face slightly.

I just noticed and wondered why did you change the elf from being happy to puzzled?
(i.e the expression changed) Just curious because I liked the expression better on the first shaman, but otherwise this one is better.

What do people think of the fighter/hero guy?

He's flat. I can't visualize what he looks like in 3d.Thrawn wrote:What do people think of the fighter/hero guy?
It's all fun and games until someone loses a lawsuit. Oh, and by the way, sending me private messages won't work. :/ If you must contact me, there's an e-mail address listed on the website in my profile.

Ugh. The flatness is rampant.
His chest is still flat - facing us directly, while the rest of him is at an angle, looking to our right. His belt is curved, but not enough - you have around 45 degrees of curvature, whereas with the visible portion, it should wrap around by around 150 degrees. Currently it's sort of like this:

And what is that pointless strap? The whole thing somehow doesn't look like a Wesnothian elf.

Ah, that explains it - you got it wrong because the body is not square. At the edge of the belt, in all cases, the viewer's line of sight will be tangent to the belt. In other words the belt will, at the point furthest to the right at which it can be seen, curve to an orientation pointing directly away from the viewer.

Hi Thrawn!
I was planning to speak for one hour long of my vision of a feminine chin (which is personnal, so you may not share it), and decided that a 30 seconds hack of your drawing would talk better, so here it is :
In a word : a changed th jawline (obviously
) and tweaked the upper lip a bit, in order to have it curled, and draw a small outline under the lower lip.
EDIT : as it appears, I may have made the chin a bit short. Note also that I removed a piece of skin under the hood at the right of her neck, in order that it does not look to thick. Apart from that, as I forgot to said in the first part, I like this portrait very much! The eyes, the expression, they're real good (IMHO of course
)

You mean other than the uncanny resemblance to a certain hero of Hyrule?Thrawn wrote: What do people think of the fighter/hero guy?

Actually, he looks great so far. I like the expression. I like the belts, they serve as a good light armoring. But, I think you should lose the tattered green shirt and show some more skin. He wants to show off those pale elf muscles!
